A few days after it was reported that a "Fake Wonder Woman" would appear in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, it looks like we have confirmation that the actual Wonder Woman will also stop by.
In a surprising move, the latest TV spot for the upcoming David F. Sandberg-directed superhero adventure has revealed that Gal Gadot herself will appear in the movie, confirming a multitude of rumors. She even gets a line as she offers some sage advice for Shazam (Zachary Levi) and his family, "Stick to saving the world, kid."
While it's certainly a puzzling decision this close to the release date, the timing does make a modicum of sense, as it essentially allows Warner Bros. and New Line a final shot at generating some additional interest ahead of March 17th, since there could be a small percentage of fans that may now come out to see the film to potentially bid farewell to Gadot, if this is indeed her DC curtain call.
With early tracking projecting a $43 million to $52 million opening weekend, the Zachary Levi-fronted follow-up is trending a bit behind its predecessor, but that would still be a fairly respectable opening, although it could face a steep drop-off in week two with John Wick: Chapter 4 rounding the corner.
