SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS Director Announces That The DC Sequel Has Officially Wrapped Production

It seems last week's report that filming on Shazam! Fury of the Gods had been completed was a little premature, as director David F. Sandberg has now officially announced that production has wrapped.

We're expecting to get a first look at some footage (it'll most likely be a behind-the-scenes teaser) from Shazam! Fury of the Gods next month at DC FanDome, and director David F. Sandberg has now officially announced that production on the DC Comics sequel has wrapped.

Reports did the rounds last week that filming had been completed, but they were a little premature, as Sandberg clearly still had a few shots to get in the can.

The filmmaker shared a first look at the Shazam Family in their redesigned costumes back in June, so we were hoping he'd have a little more to show us once shooting had wrapped. For now, we'll have to make do with a shot of the clapperboard and the movie's logo, as well as the following image Sandberg posted to Instagram!

The Shazam! sequel will see the return of Zachary Levi as the titular superhero, along with Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Meagan Good as Darla, Ross Butler as Eugene, Grace Fulton as Mary, D.J. Cotrona as Pedro and Adam Brody as powered-up Freddy. They'll be joined by Rachel Zegler, Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu as the villainous daughters of Atlas.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods is set to hit theaters on June 2, 2023.
