SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS Director Confirms Production Wrap With Epic Shot Of Fan-Favorite Hero

Shazam! Fury of the Gods director David F. Sandberg has confirmed that he's finished working on the movie, sharing a new shot of Zachary Levi flying into action as the title character. Check it out...

Shazam! Fury of the Gods was supposed to be released this Christmas, though that meant it would have been going head-to-head with Avatar: The Way of Water at the box office.

Something tells us that wouldn't have ended well for the sequel, and Warner Bros. made the wise decision to push the movie into 2023. Despite the disappointing delay, director David F. Sandberg celebrated Halloween by taking to Twitter to reveal that the movie is now officially finished.

With that, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is picture locked and ready to roll out into theaters next March. That means no more test screenings, though the entire plot of the Shazam! follow-up actually leaked several months ago. Many changes could have occurred since then, of course, including a possible tie-in with Black Adam

As for this new look at the movie, we're sure you'll agree that's a downright electrifying shot of Billy Batson suited up!

Shazam! Fury of the Gods continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word "SHAZAM!," is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam.

The sequel's cast includes Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Adam Brody as Super Hero Freddy, Ross Butler as Super Hero Eugene, Meagan Good as Super Hero Darla, D.J. Cotrona as Super Hero Pedro, Grace Caroline Currey as Mary Bromfield/Super Hero Mary.

Also returning are Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Pena, Marta Milans as Rosa Vasquez, Cooper Andrews as Victor Vasquez, and Djimon Hounsou as Wizard. Joining the movie are Rachel Zegler, with Lucy Liu and Helen Mirren.

David F. Sandberg directs the film from a script by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set to be released on March 17, 2023.

Check out our interview with Grace Caroline Currey about her role in the video below.

If the film is filled with goofball slapstick (which it will be given the trailer) it will be ANOTHER loser For Warner Brothers.

@Forthas - Don't worry you can put a black and white filter over it. Mute it and play some Hans Zimmer music over it. Maybe also throw in some Bale Batman growls.

@kider2 - If they did it would certainly make more money!

I want to chokeslam the mofo who thought Hellen Mirren and Lucy Liu would be great villains in a Shazam movie. Plus that trailer is cringe, bad cringe

This will be the better Shazam Movie than the one that came out a few weeks

Prediction: 75% Rotten Tomatoes.

I can't believe there isn't a betting system for RT scores.

Could really make a killing

That “I just threw a truck at a dragon, I love my life” line made me honestly embarrassed. I now understand cringe. So so stupid. But I’m also not familiar with Shazam like I am other characters. So can someone that is familiar with Shazam please tell me if that’s how the character is in the comics?? Like, is Zack Levy playing him the way he’s supposed to be played? Thank you in advance…
