Warner Bros. released a new trailer for Shazam! Fury of the Gods yesterday, and thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we now have some new stills from the upcoming sequel.
There's nothing too revealing here, though we do get a better look at the Daughters of Atlas. They're joined by a dragon that promises to be a formidable opponent for Billy Batson's superhero alter-ego, and when director David F. Sandberg was asked about the creature, he explained the importance of making it unique.
"It was also trying to figure out, well, how can we do it differently?" the filmmaker explains. "We've seen a lot of dragons in Game of Thrones and The Hobbit and everything. But this is from mythology. It's a dragon that's sort of made of wood because he's born from a tree."
In the same interview, Sandberg talked about Djimon Hounsou's surprise return as The Wizard. The character was thought dead following the events of Shazam!, but the director explains that the resurrected hero finds himself spending much of this adventure with young Freedy Freeman.
"One of the things that turned out so great was pairing [Freddy] up with the Wizard," Sandberg says. "In the first one, you had Freddy playing off of Shazam, and now, you have Freddy and the Wizard. The Wizard is the ultimate straight man, just very serious, and then you have this kid who's just annoying and talks the whole time."
We're certainly intrigued by what role The Wizard will play beyond his team-up with Freddy, though we don't anticipate his presence doing anything to set up a meeting with Black Adam given The Rock's recent farewell to that role.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word "SHAZAM!," is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam.
Bestowed with the powers of the gods, Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still learning how to juggle teenage life with having adult Super Hero alter-egos. But when the Daughters of Atlas, a vengeful trio of ancient gods, arrive on Earth in search of the magic stolen from them long ago, Billy - aka Shazam - and his family are thrust into a battle for their superpowers, their lives, and the fate of their world.
The sequel's cast includes Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Adam Brody as Super Hero Freddy, Ross Butler as Super Hero Eugene, Meagan Good as Super Hero Darla, D.J. Cotrona as Super Hero Pedro, Grace Caroline Currey as Mary Bromfield/Super Hero Mary.
