SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME - Closer Look At Mysterio Confirms Comic Book Accurate Costume For The Villain
There's been some concern among fans that Mysterio might be getting a new look for Spider-Man: Far From Home but this new set photo confirms that he'll be rocking a costume straight out of the comics...
Over the weekend, we got a (blurry) first look at Jake Gyllenhaal suited up as Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Now, a much closer shot has started doing the rounds online and it instantly becomes apparent that Marvel Studios will deliver a comic book accurate take on the iconic Spider-Man villain.
As you can see, the green areas of his suit are identical to what his comic book counterpart wears, while he also has the elaborate gold boots and gloves. His cloak, meanwhile, is purple and it appears to be covered in what looks a lot like Chitauri tech. Considering the fact that was a huge part of Spider-Man: Homecoming, it wouldn't be a surprise if it becomes a recurring presence in the franchise.
It also gives Marvel Studios a clever way to explain where Spidey's villains have got their powers from! Now, there's no sign of the fishbowl helmet here but it's hard to imagine Mysterio not wearing that at some point and there's a chance it could be CGI (especially if it's an energy field rather than a glass helmet as many fans have theorised. What do you guys think about this take on Quentin Beck?
