Well, this is certainly an interesting marketing strategy!
Morbius director Daniel Espinosa took park in an interview with Cinemablend (you can check out his non-spoilery comments here) in which he shared details on the movie's post-credits scenes. The official Sony Pictures Twitter account then retweeted the post with a spoiler warning.
Filmmakers often take part in these type of Q&A sessions a significant amount of time after their movie hits theaters, but it's not something anyone expected to see prior to release! It's worth noting that a plot leak has been doing the rounds online for a while, but Espinosa and the studio have still come in for some backlash for openly discussing spoilers before anyone aside from a handful of fans and critics has had a chance to watch Morbius.
We won't get into them here, but you'll find all the details at the link below.
We're not sure what the thinking behind this is, but initial reactions to the Living Vampire's big-screen debut have not been positive and full reviews are not expected to be much better (the embargo lifts day of release in most locations), so the studio/director may simply be doing whatever they can to put some attention on the movie.
