Yahoo has just released an interview with the two main cast members of Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield once again describes how excited he is to explore more of Peter Parker's back story.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.



The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field, the films swings into theaters July 3, 2012 in 3D!

@ironman Well you may get your wish granted, Sony is expected to file bankruptcy by the end of the year and sell their movie merchandising rights to help save their electronics division.

It's good to realize how close we actually are to this thing. I remember$2 years ago when we learned that Andrew was playing Peter, now we've got a month til it goes global! Can't wait!

Disney literally just BOUGHT COLUMBIA!!!!! JK but it's very possible because Columbia/Sony pic is close to going under. TASM will keep it a float though so IDK, let's be honest though the reason they rebooted was so that they could make money and not go bankrupt, if they were never having fiancal problems then they would've gave the rights back to marvel because there would really be no reason to keep if your not gonna need it asks you already used its full potential under your capabilities.

That was reported last fall and I was one saying they could go bankrupt this year, but as of now Sony is looking to hold on and from what I have been told by a friend who is on the inside they have a solid financial backer that will not let that happen.

@thewolfx: That worries me, too. Everything about this movie looks fantastic except THAT. It could put a cool spin on the story or it could be the movies Achilles heel and totally screw up the movie. Ang Lee proved that latter.
