Andrew Garfield Still Hasn't Tried On The Spider-Man Costume!

Andrew Garfield Still Hasn't Tried On The Spider-Man Costume!

The actor talks briefly with MTV about the pressure that comes along with playing a character like Spider-Man and reveals that he's still not had chance to suit up as the webslinger...

"Nah, that's just another role, man," he laughed when asked if he was nervous about the pressure and media attention he'll now recieve after being cast as Peter Parker.

When he was quizzed about whether or not they've let him try on the costume, Garfield said: "No, it's all in the very early stages."

"Absolutely," he revealed when asked if he's excited about researching the characters long history in the Marvel Universe. "I've always been obsessed with that comic and that character and that symbol and everything he stands for."

"I think he's an important figure of mythology for every skinny young boy across the world, myself included. Yeah, it's a dream come true."

I hope they use black raised webbing instead of silver this time. I can't wait until we get our first peek at the costume.

Nice I guess.
I agree with you @deadpool that hulk goblin and gwen carnage are sooo stupid! If they even do it on that reboot I will lose the hope I got.

I remember when this was first announced, I was pissed. I wanted the lizard for spiderman 4.

But now, I'm interested in this.

Sony and marvel have a rare opportunity here. They could have this movie set in the cinematic universe. and there is a good way to make this happen, The daily bugle. Have tony stark on a framed cover on the wall or something

I hope its not just the same as Tobey's suit, obviously it needs the traditional look of Spider-Man but I don't want the suit to just look the same.

I'm now really starting to look forward to this movie. However, they might have a great leading man but Marc Webb could
still [frick] this whole thing up by using the Hulk Goblin or any of the other lame Ultimate villains! :P

I just hope that they eventually build up to this...

@JoshW: Actually I dont think that Ultimate Goblin would be so bad if they kept him the way he was in Vol.1 and 4,where he was psychotic and setting out to make Parker's life a living hell. I'm sure he wont be the villain in this installment due to signs pointing at the Lizard but this adaptation seems like it'll have more in common with the SSM cartoon than Ultimate. Just not a literal play by play of either.

I just saw (500) Days of Summer on HBO, and I've gotta say I'm even more excited about this movie now. Not only does Andrew Garfield seem like an even better Peter than Toby (whom I liked, for the most part), but Webb definitely has a sense of style and a uniqueness to him. I mean, that movie is pretty much just a rom-com, but the style (and the actors and writing) definitely help it rise above the slew of crap that gets put out all the time. Seriously, how often is a rom-com actually good? (500) Days of Summer was more than good, it was one of the very few such films to actually make me think of real relationships I've been in. Hopefully Webb can make Spider-Man great again.

The suit will more than likley look the same except the eyes, I have a feeling they'll be bigger and rounder and more bug-like.

They need to make the costume be more amateur-like. Make us believe that a teenager could sew this with bare essentials. The Raimi costume was great don't get me wrong. But I just didn't believe that an average teenager could make that.

If they use the Ultimate Version like they plan to, the Spidey suite is a modified version of the wrestling costume he swipes.

They should use the Unlimited suit just w/o the web wing things. The unlimited is still very classic spidey, different from Tobey's, and IMO it looks more modern.

@CaptainProg, no, he totally can, because:
A: This new opinion is much more reasonable, and
B: No one should have an opinion (aside from either pessimism or optimism) about this film yet, as all we know as of right now are the director and lead actor.

I have watched the imaganarium of doctor parnassus like three this week. this kid is gonna rock as Spiderman.
My spidey sense is tingling. EPIC WIN.
I agree though no HULK GOBLIN. They should still have the lizard as the villain . Sony should hire Edward Norton to play Dr. Connors.
