Right after Emma Stone found out that she would be portraying Gwen Stacy in Marc Webb's reboot of the Spider-Man franchise, the internet and her Help co-star, Bryce Dallas Howard found out not too long after.
Apparently, Howard was just as keen as fanboys to discover who would be following her Spider-Man 3 performance as the ill-fated, first love interest of Peter Parker.
"She was maybe the first person that came into my trailer. She banged on my door and said 'The internet is saying that you are Gwen Stacy'. And I had just found out," Emma told
The Independent.
"They tell you that you're going to play Gwen Stacy and they say, 'It's going out in a minute and a half'. I had 90 seconds to go like this [she hyperventilates] and then it was all over the internet.
"So two minutes later, Bryce was like: 'Hi! Is this true?'"
Emma stated that the whirlwind of attention she's received following the casting announcement is something that excited her about the project.
"That kind of passion is one of the most fun reasons to be involved with something like Spider-Man," she added.
