I have to say, honestly, I’m not the biggest Spider-Man fan, but I did like him when I use growing up, and I used to like the animated show. So Marvel has their Avengers and Fox is has X-men and Fantastic Four, while Sony has only Spider-Man. Now the big question is can Sony create their own successful Cinematic Universe? Here are my ideas on how to make it work.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Sony is laying the groundwork for what is to come in the next few movies. We know that Sony is planning to do a Sinister Six movie, and also a Venom spin-off. That’s cool, because it will be something new and different, having the villains be the main characters.
But what about a big crossover movie like the Avengers. Sony has the rights to the Spider-Man comics, so they own the rights to the characters that could team up with Spidy. What if Sony starts making more movies, what if they start making spin-off movies, and eventually all of these movies will lead to a big crossover movie.
I don’t know how many movies they can make, but since the franchise is making very good money, I don’t think Sony will think twice before they start making at least 1 movie per year.
So what if somewhere in 2019 or 2020, after we had Spider-Man 4 and the Sinister Six movies, and few spin-offs, Sony will do the big crossover.
The big bad guy can be Carnage, and a team of heroes will have to unit to stop him. Spider-Man, Venom (as a very anti-heroic character, he can be like the Hulk of the team), Black Cat, Rocket Racer, Spider-Woman (I think that Sony have the right to her) and Puma assemble as team of heroes to fight and stop Carnage. This could easily make lots of money, and also can open the door for more spin-offs and expend the Spider-Man Cinematic Universe.
