Last night, the Spider-Man Reboot returned to S. Grand Ave in Los Angeles to shoot another stunt scene.

During last night’s shoot both Andrew Garfield (who plays Spider-Man) and a stuntman were on location taking turns filming a scene in which Spidey swings over the "New York City" traffic. In the photo above Andrew is climbing the ladder to for a shot on top of the truck while the stuntman can be seen standing next to him in the black jacket.

The currently untitled Spider-Man reboot is set to be released in 3D on July 3, 2012!

It's [frick]ing awesome how much of this movie they seem to be doing practically. I just hope the switch between the practical Spidey and CGI one is a little more subtle this time around! This looks great though...Garfield/the stuntman seem to really have nailed the body language for the character.

Whoa!!! This is really good, I mean really GOOD!!! Now I'm really hyped for this movie. The suit in action is way better now!!! He looks real. He looks like Spiderman. Man, this movie is gonna rock. Imagine if these are just set pics, what the completed and final product will look like? Awesome swinging and the suit looks really cool. Impressive. Garfield and the stuntman are doing a great job with the action scenes. But, I'm guessing this is a follow up to the running or before the running scene. The web shooters are probably his first attempt and so do not work properly. He runs out of web and has to hitch a ride to escape the police. Perfect Spiderman moment. I'm seriously hyped now.

Those were flat out SPECTACULAR!!! Still don't like the red lines on the sides though... I'm not asking them to change them, i just can't prefer them. That's MY opinion, so just start crying about it. "BOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!! Someone dislikes certain aspects of Spidey's suit! BOOOOHOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!"

Did you guys notice its a different costume? There's even a "belt"! At least, I think it is... Look closely at the second to last pic... Maybe I'm wrong, but hopefully I'm not, and everyone can shut up about the "belt" issue.

TheAceVinnyLee - 1/25/2011, 10:50 AM
@dahamma... Have you ever read a Spidey comic? The "belt" that held his web cartridges was hidden under the suit!!!! The red line that everyone's bitching about was just a design on the suit, and not an actual belt!

I thought of JJ just screaming "I NEED PICURES OF SPIDERMAN!!!" by looking at these. lol Looks good cant wait for the trailer (eventually)

Bryanferryfan - 1/25/2011, 10:52 AM
Cheap way to cut down on the CGI budget too. I think it's the best way to shoot Spidey! In a real environment as opposed to Green Screen or whatever they use nowadays. "YOU BITCHES ARE BASTARDS"! Have a nice day!

TheAceVinnyLee- There is a belt/design around Spidey's waist. It's gay-thin, but it's there... along with the other gay-thin red stripes on his arms and legs. They look like [frick]in' garters, holding his gloves and boots on.
TheAceVinnyLee
TheAceVinnyLee - 1/25/2011, 11:00 AM
Ok, after checking out the other set pics again, its the same suit. There is a "belt", but it only goes 3/4 around, and doesn't "connect" in the front. There is a spider on the back, its just hard to see from these pics.

Its not the classic suit, but its not bad, either. A good try at getting away from Raimi's suit. I'll wait til the trailer and see it in motion before I condemn it.
SpiritZR1
SpiritZR1 - 1/25/2011, 11:01 AM
Are those silver things on his feet part of the costume or are they there to protect his feet when running in the streets? I'm hoping its the latter and will be digitally removed for the final product
Shunt
Shunt - 1/25/2011, 11:01 AM
when are they going to give a promotional photo of the mask? Maybe if the mask looks good enough I can get passed how horrible the suit looks.. but i doubt i'll like it anyways because i was looking forward to the Big Round eyes from some of the comic book editions & it doesnt even seem like the eyes will look as good as Raimis mask.

RAIMIS MASK WAS FANTASTIC

BUT THIS MASK FOR A LIVE ACTION SUIT WOULD HAVE BEEN AMAZING

I like it. I’ve always been excited for this thing and the pics and casting are just making me more so. I think having a thinner framed actor and stunt crew makes a better looking Spidey in these scenes. Say what you want about the suit guys, but I'm telling you when we see this thing on film with proper lighting, camera filters, and HD, and not just in these real lighting digital pics it is going to look awesome.

I also like that the new suit has no padding. I always found the shoulder and arm pads in the Raimi suit distracting, that and by Spider-Man 3 Toby was getting a little tubby.
TheAceVinnyLee
TheAceVinnyLee - 1/25/2011, 11:02 AM
@Shaman - yeah, I was just comparing it with the other pics. I'm ont fond of the line down the leg, either, but again, I'll reserve judgement til I see it in motion. As long as the movie's good, I can forgive the poetic licensing on the suit.
chado21
chado21 - 1/25/2011, 11:03 AM
the "belt" is probably just a harness to help brace garfield's girly slender frame when he's swinging around...
