EDITORIAL: *WHY* Did Harry Osborn Become The Green Goblin? (TAS2 Theory)

There is one thing I haven't seen anyone talking about: How and why did Harry become the Goblin? Will he AVENGE his father and become the Goblin, or will there be a different story told for him to become the Goblin?

As some of you may know, from the comics and infamous movie, Norman Osborn becomes the Green Goblin. He fights Spider-Man and gets impaled by his own glider (not just in the movie, kiddos), and his son, Harry Osborn (played by Andrew- I mean Dane DeHaan) witnesses his father's death at the hands of Spider-Man (or so he thinks). That's when he found out about all of this -the serum, his father, and Spider-Man's identity- and took the serum for himself to avenge his father and become the new Green Goblin.

So the question is: how about the new movie? Will Norman have the same fate? Well, as we know from several sources, we see a decapitated head of none other than NORMAN OSBORN himself. What does that mean? Does the glider decapitate his head instead? Dang, that's gruesome... What about the kids, Marc? THINK ABOUT THE KIDS!

I have several theories:

1. Norman does die like in the movie and comics, except he dies in the hands of his son
That's one theory I have in mind. He and Spider-Man (who he doesn't know is Peter yet) fight... in the bedroom of Norman Osborn... and somehow, during the fight, Norman gets impaled. Yeah... NEXT THEORY!

2. Norman doesn't die
Obvious one. He just tasked his son Harry to get Spider-Man. That's all. Maybe he persuaded him reeeeaaal goood (gave him the Goblin serum).

Or maybe...
He does have a disease, right? Maybe Harry wanted to continue his work, try to find a way to cure his father and stuff, but they had no test experiments (like the first move) so he tested it on himself. Boom, he becomes the Goblin.

3. Norman dies at the hands of Spider-Man
Yes, another obvious one. Maybe during a random battle with someone -maybe the Rhino- and one of the weapons -Rhino's missle's- goes into the Osborn Estate and KABOOM! ... Or maybe some other way...

4. The Gobin serum has mind control
Thaaat's right! Norman forced his son to take the serum. but what he didn't know is that the serum had some kind of mind control. Now, Norman faked his death and implanted an idea in his own son's head to find Spider-Man because he just has to...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anywho, we all know Harry comes asking for Electro's help, but if you noticed quickly, you'll see that Harry is badly beaten and bruised. Maybe by Spider-Man? A cat? HIS MOTHER?!? I dunno.

Another question is how did Max get himself chained up? Maybe Spider-Man beat him and incarcirated him, but Oscorp pulled an "Iron Man 2" and made Max their prisoner in their own facility (that's why we have pictures of Harry going to Ravencroft and stuff)...

So, do you have a theory? Or are you just gonna wait for the movie? I know I am. Comment down below if you have your own theory. Maybe it might just happen in the movie.

I think Harry needs Spiderman/Peter's blood to perfect the serum so he sends Harry to go get it by any means necessary. Harry tries and dies in the process at the hands of Spidey (by accident of course). Norman dies and/or takes the serum at the end. I don't get the decapitated head part. I really don't.

That cat can't replace Willem. He is the master of asking people to avenge him. Neither will Dehaan or Chris Cooper will surpass him either.

@dethpillow - But why would Harry do something so evil (capture Spidey) if he's just a rich kid with JB bangs? There has to be a reason, so I think Normy's death is gonna be TASM2's "Phil Coulson" for Harry becoming the Goblin.

At least, that's my take. Or Harry *could* also be like J. J. Jameson and just hate tights...

I think if we were to rule out the most likely to not happen theory, it would be 1, 3, 4, and the first half of two. Just sayin'.

You have a wide range of thinking though, which is good.
