Jake Gyllenhaal Spotted In London As SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Shooting Continues

As of right now, Jake Gyllenhaal still hasn't been officially announced as part of the Spider-Man: Far From Home cast but the actor has now been spotted in London. Is he rocking a new look for Mysterio?

While it's widely believed that Jake Gyllenhaal will end up playing Quentin Beck/Mysterio in next year's Spider-Man: Far From Home, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige made it clear during the Ant-Man and The Wasp press tour that nothing is set in stone and the deal isn't done. Well, that may have changed in recent weeks because the actor has now been spotted hanging out in London, England.

The sequel is shooting in and around the city, so Gyllenhaal being there certainly points to him playing the villain and it looks like Beck will be rocking a beard in Far From Home if this photo is any indication.

That doesn't exactly tell us much about what to expect from him in the movie, of course, but it is going to be very interesting seeing what the actor does with this character, especially as he has such a large personality and powers which are seriously outlandish. What are you guys expecting to see from Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

I just hope that one day...he'll get to play another role in a CBM, if that happens than i'm actually super ok with this. :3

I’m intruiged, I love that they’re doing Mysterio, and I hope they find a way to make his costume look like it does in the comics. It’s a great design, like many of Spidey’s villains.

As for Gyllenhall, he suprised me in Nightcrawler but I’ve found him pretty boring in everything else, so I’m interested to see what he does. He’s definitely not the type I envisioned for the character.

@connorblaze - I think a nice blend of the classic look with some updated materials / fishbowl helmet blending:

I wonder if there will be more villains in the movie? After how they mangled Shocker I hope they stay away from minor ones but I’d love to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Kraven as well in this since it’s got a global focus. Or in a sequel. Here’s hoping they have another crack at The Lizard soon too.

@connorblaze - Some people think Hydroman is in this movie. Mysterio works for a bigger villain (Norman?), they say... And The Vulture will show up as well.

@Unites - Rumors also talk about the Chameleon and The Scorpion may still apear too.

@Unites - Michael Keaton coming back has been confirmed by the trades.

First Keaton and now Gyllenhaal. Who will they get next to round out the Six? Very excited to see where this leads to.

@Ronan3Accuser - I want Aaron Paul for Electro! Especially if they go for the Ultimate version of him, who's a henchman for rich criminals like Kingpin.

@OuzoPowerMan - Electro is never going to be cool!

...(Although... Aaron Paul is a really great casting choice... [frick]!)

@Ronan3Accuser - I always thought Hugh Jackman would make a good Kraven, if he was willing to come back to the genre.

I like Gerard Butler for Kraven.

@OuzoPowerMan - @OuzoPowerMan - Just can’t see him in that role. I think if they go older Kevin Bacon would be good for Electro.

Not exactly confirmation, even unofficially, but it does seem to point to that being the case. Would be quite a coincidence otherwise. Excited to see him in the role if this turns out to be accurate.

Saw some YouTube clips of Gyllenhaal from different movies. Good God, this guy is just a magnificent actor. As long as they give him some good material, if he can bring this...

To Mysterio, then we're in for one heck of a treat.

@KWilly - Nightcrawler is SO underrated!

@KWilly - Gyllenhaal is probably the greatest/most consistent actor working today that doesn't have an Oscar.

I remember when Leo finally won his for the Revenant, everyone was saying Jake was the next "if anyone deserves and Oscar, it's this guy."

This is what Edward Norton "joked" about MCU movies...

@TheOtherOn - Wow... Marvel movies are cool enough to be referenced in a Comedy Central Roast...

What a time to be alive.

@TheOtherOn - I didn’t think the script was too bad. Or maybe I just like Edward Norton. And if that’s the case and he said it’s bad I have bad taste. Oh no:(

@Spock0Clock - If you were being sarcastic, its not funny at all :P

If you actually thought that was cool? That sums up MCU movies right there ....

Would be some solid casting, I'm just hoping they don't skip out on the rest of the Sinister Six
Jonah Hill for Doc Ock
Javier Bardem for Kraven
Heck, get Adam Sandler or David Schwimmer for Sandman if you want some authentic New Yorkers
P.S Don't hate me for these choices, I'm just trying to think of Big Names and Half-Lookalikes

Boy do I want to go back to London. I had a blast there.
