Marvel's SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Sequel Has Found A Director

Jon Watts successfully relaunched the Spider-Man franchise with Spider-Man: Homecoming so it should come as no surprise to learn that he's officially in talks with Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures to take the helm of the currently untitled follow-up. That's set to be released on July 5th, 2019, and it will obviously feature Tom Holland returning as Peter Parker for another year of high school misadventures.

As of right now, Spider-Man: Homecoming has earned $468.3 million worldwide in just two weeks and the reviews hailed it as perhaps one of Marvel's best movies to date. Watts can be thanked for that as his direction provided a fresh new take on the wall-crawler while also making comic book fans happy.

The untitled Spider-Man sequel will pick up after the events of Avengers: Infinity War and that could mean Peter will be rocking a fancy new suit (unless it's destroyed in the battle against Thanos).

How do you guys feel about Watts returning to direct the movie? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this news in the comments section and stay tuned for more Spider-Man updates!

Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if Watts didn't return. Nothing about the felt was really well directed. Not saying he's a bad director but it just felt like with the shots & editing that anyone could've directed a Spider-Man film like how Watts did.

Maybe it was watching Baby Driver before Homecoming but nothing was impressive about Watts's directing. Even the fight scenes are flat & not as good as Spidey was in Civil War & nowhere as great as the action & fights in the Raimi film
