Disney+ in the UK and Ireland have announced today that five Spider-Man movies will arrive on the streaming platform this Friday, June 17.

They include Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 2 (2004), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), and Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). Spider-Man 3 and Spider-Man: Far From Home currently call Netflix home in the UK, though a press release notes, "Additional titles from Sony Pictures' film and television library are expected to premiere on Disney+ in UK & Ireland later this year."

Ever since it was first announced that Disney and Sony were planning to bring the Spider-Man movies to Disney+, there's been a huge amount of excitement among fans to see the web-slinger join his fellow heroes on the platform. This is just the beginning, of course, as the MCU's Peter Parker will even get his own animated series on the streamer titled Spider-Man: Freshman Year.

There's currently no word on when these movies will premiere on Disney+ in the U.S. The list of Spider-Man movies coming to Disney+ in UK & Ireland can be found below:

@TheManWithoutFear - I mean it has not been released for streaming yet on USA either, so it'll be a while before its available in any streaming platform, also since its a recent film, there is a possibility other services has the rights to stream it first efore anyone else (like in USA it has to go to Starz first before it can go to D+/Netflix/Whatever)

@bobevanz - Is Sony trying to make more money in an easy way? Yeah. But the movie is really great and I wouldn't mind one bit watching again in cinemas especially if it includes more scenes. I'm a fan and it's my money.

I'll probably give them all a watch again if No Way Home hits streaming. Smart move from Sony to put them on Disney+, because I'm probably not the only one that wants to watch them all and doesn't want to go through all the services to find them
Scarilian
Scarilian - 6/14/2022, 5:30 AM
I find it hard to believe anyone in the UK does not already own these physically rendering the inclusion on Disney+ useless.

Even then, the movies are so heavily distributed you can find alternate cuts online, let alone completely free alternatives. Disney trying to leech off the success of past Sony movies won't make people want to stay with Disney when they compare the quality of film making of the Raimi Spider-man Era or the CGI of the Amazing Spider-man to the mess of the MCU Spider-man series.
FireandBlood
FireandBlood - 6/14/2022, 7:02 AM
@Scarilian - Disney+ has made purchasing any Marvel movie pointless since now you can just subscribe and watch them all in one place.

Hopefully the whole Sony/Marvel catalogue gets dumped in there someday

We live in freakin 2022. I wish geo-blocking can die super fast brutal gory death. 😡🤬

Havenless
Havenless - 6/14/2022, 8:41 AM
@TheOtherOn - If that’s ere the case thenThey’d have to follow American standards everywhere in which these couldn’t come to Netflix at all. So in your spite all you did was hurt everyone else

@Havenless - And it's written in the concrete walls that the rules can't/won't change if/when they finally decide to send geo-blocking to hell for good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

RitoRevolto
RitoRevolto - 6/14/2022, 7:33 AM
@Orphix - They probably don't care and/or want to try and get it back for D+. Currently it's on HBO Max and it'll switch to someone else besides Disney.

The perks of living in Latin America. :P

They should include Spider-Man 3 though since they are adding the duo of The Amazing Spider-Man films.
