Has Emma Roberts Been Cast In Spider-Man 3D? "You Never Know"

During an interview with MTV, Roberts(Daughter of Eric, Niece of Julia) was asked if there was any truth to the rumor that she might be up for a role in the new Spider-Man reboot..

A while ago a list of actresses that Sony were apparently interested in casting as the female lead in Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot appeared online. One of the young ladies was Emma Roberts(Next to be seen in Scream 4). While interviewing her about her latest movie Its Kind Of A Funny Story, MTV played a little game of Yes/No/You never know. Roberts response was of course..

"You never know, I'm saying the truth — you never know!"

Asked again if she's met with anybody on the Spider-Man team: "You never know!"

The interviewer took this as a yes anyway, and so do I. 9 times out of 10 if an actor/actress has no involvement in a project they will be all too happy to clear up the rumor. So if Roberts is in talks, that would suggest that the full list of actresses supposedly in contention for the part(Not Mary Jane, believed to be Gwen Stacy) is probably accurate.

Either way, Roberts seems interested and when asked if she is a fan of comics she is quick to reply..

"I think they're awesome. I don't read comic books religiously, but I think they're cool and it would be really fun to be a part of a franchise like that and get to play a character that's been around forever that people have already developed a love towards."

The full list of potential actresses are: Emma Roberts (Scream 4), Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four), Imogen Poots (Centurion), Ophelia Lovibond (London Boulevard)and Lily Collins (Priest). Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) was also mentioned in connection but has apparently debunked the rumor.

Teresa Palmer :)

I hope she isn't up for the role. She's not especially attractive.I think it's her nose and teeth.I've never seen her act, but from what I've gathered from around the net, she isn't all that talented, either.

She's also only 19 and she looks even younger than that. There's a clear physical age difference between her and Andrew Garfield.

Well, I always liked the thought of her playing MJ, so I'm 100% happy with this. However, I dont actually think it's necessary to have them both after already having three movies with MJ and her now smaller role in the Spider-Man comic books! Still, a decent casting choice so I cant complain too much as long as they cast Teresa Palmer as Gwen Stacy and make that character the main love interest...

EMMA [frick]ing ROBERTS?

Never heard of her, didn't even know ERIC ROBERTS had kids lol! : P

Nah ain't bothered as long as we don't get ULTIMATE crap in this and we get a decent SPIDEY movie, hopefully very little if nothing of origin and get straight in it!!!

It does seem a bit too HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL though!

I'm only being nice here coz I gotta save my hatred for FOX! : D

I think she's a beaut. But Palmer is prob more suited looks wise to Gwen Stacy. The only one of those girls I have seen act is Imogen Poots in Centurion and she was decent.

Wow, that pic of her in the white tank top is HOT! She is really good looking.

I could see her as MJ, as long as MJ is a small role and they do the history right by using Gwen first.

@LEE777 - Thanks for your normal automatic cookie cutter response about the Ultimate reboot, its nice to know you still talk about that even though no one cares about your 2 cents

PS This could be a real cool choice.

She is freakin' GORGEOUS!!! Man i wouldn't want Eric Roberts as an in-law though... As much as i like him and his movies/tv shows, he would intimidate the living piss out of me in real life.

Actually, i wouldn't mind foolin' around with aunt Julia behind her back ;P

Oh and you can't mention anything from Eric's resume without mentionning "Best of the Best 1&2", that's a given.

That was a classic. And a must see for any martial arts fan. It had freakin' James Earl Jones in it for cryin' out loud. He single handedly made Stallone's Judge Dredd film watchable simply with his openning narration LMAO ;)

Its definitely worth watching for the action, Fassbender and the smokin hot and also really good Olga Kureyonko or however you spell her name. But, ultimately its really only average. 3 stars..at best!

5 bucks the same thing happens like with the Spider-Man casting. Hutcherson was rumored to have the Spidey role, and it goes to Andrew Garfield.

if shes playing the lead female (hopefully gwen), it'll prolly go to someone else better :)

Emma is a cutie and far from hot. I've seen Nancy Drew and she's very likeable. But no, she's no Gwen material. Unless, it's not Gwen either. Who knows? It might be, say, Betty Brant?
