The internet exploded on Thursday when
Sony released the first official pic from the upcoming reboot of
Spider-Man featuring Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man in a brand new, made for film suit. Hundreds of comments flooded the internet from both angered and ecstatic fanboys alike stating the opinions on how epic win or epic fail the new Spider-Man suit was.
Most of the comments on the new suit were positive with comments saying either they liked the the new suit or, in most cases, that they thought garfield looked better in suit then Tobey Maguire did. Most of the negative comments were they exact opposite with commenters stating that they thought Garfield was to skinny to be Spider-Man, that they simply didn't like the suit, or that Tobey Maguire is simply better as Spider-Man, suit and all.
These comments made me think: "Is it the suit that works or just the man inside it?"
What was it that people really liked or disliked? Did people really like the new design of the suit or just the way Garfield fills the suit out? and compared to Tobey Maguire, who had the best suit and who looks the best in their respecitve suit: Garfield or Maguire?
I personally like the new suit design and I think that Andrew Garfield, compared to Tobey Maguire, looks great in his suit. I loved the design of the suits in the Sam Raimi
Spider-Man series and think that Tobey Maguire looked great in them. The new suit design deviates some from whats been seen in the previous films and in other media, but it has to be different. It's a reboot and it's helping to usher in a new age of Marvel Adaptations, so its okay to be a little different.
