KRAVEN THE HUNTER Movie Will Reportedly Be Inspired By "Kraven's Last Hunt" And Feature SPIDER-MAN
Kraven the Hunter writer Richard Wenk has revealed some surprising new details about his plans for the live-action Spider-Verse spinoff and it sounds like the wall-crawler will factor into the story...
There was no sign of Spider-Man in Venom despite the fact that Eddie Brock's origin story is closely tied to Peter Parker's world but Kraven the Hunter writer Richard Wenk - who has now begun working on the untitled movie - claims that Sergei Kravinoff will indeed "come face to face with Spider-Man." Is that a sign Sony intends to take the wall-crawler back from Marvel Studios after Far From Home?
Unfortunately, that's a very real possibility but it's also feasible that the studio will cast a new Spider-Man for these spinoffs (that, however, would be mighty confusing for pretty much everyone).
Wenk also promised that his screenplay is going to "adhere very closely to the lore of Kraven the Hunter" and when he was asked if any one comic book has inspired him, he added: "What we’re all circling is the infamous ‘Kraven’s Last Hunt.’ Whether this is the precursor for that movie, whether we’ll include it… we’re talking about that." Kraven's origin doesn't need Spidey but that does.
It's clearly still early days for the projects and Wenk may not be aware that Spider-Man is off-limits, so we're just going to have to wait and see how things pan out. After all, the movie may never even happen! What do you guys think? As always, share your thoughts on that in the comments section.
