KRAVEN THE HUNTER Movie Will Reportedly Be Inspired By "Kraven's Last Hunt" And Feature SPIDER-MAN

Kraven the Hunter writer Richard Wenk has revealed some surprising new details about his plans for the live-action Spider-Verse spinoff and it sounds like the wall-crawler will factor into the story...

There was no sign of Spider-Man in Venom despite the fact that Eddie Brock's origin story is closely tied to Peter Parker's world but Kraven the Hunter writer Richard Wenk - who has now begun working on the untitled movie - claims that Sergei Kravinoff will indeed "come face to face with Spider-Man." Is that a sign Sony intends to take the wall-crawler back from Marvel Studios after Far From Home?

Unfortunately, that's a very real possibility but it's also feasible that the studio will cast a new Spider-Man for these spinoffs (that, however, would be mighty confusing for pretty much everyone).

Wenk also promised that his screenplay is going to "adhere very closely to the lore of Kraven the Hunter" and when he was asked if
any one comic book has inspired him, he added: "What we’re all circling is the infamous ‘Kraven’s Last Hunt.’ Whether this is the precursor for that movie, whether we’ll include it… we’re talking about that." Kraven's origin doesn't need Spidey but that does.

It's clearly still early days for the projects and Wenk may not be aware that Spider-Man is off-limits, so we're just going to have to wait and see how things pan out. After all, the movie may never even happen! What do you guys think? As always, share your thoughts on that in the comments section.

@Evansly - That actually sounds like a good film TBH. Kraven V. Venom. Hopefully it doesn't end with both of their moms name being Martha.

@LadiesmanBumble - they don't say if this is a sony flick or a marvel studios flick... it is possible this is Homecoming 3 being penned since Homecoming 2 is well into production.

Why doesn't Sony just focus on animated Spider-Man projects and leave the live-action stuff to their partnership with Disney/Marvel Studios? Into the Spider-Verse looks great and I could get behind them doing a similar thing with Kraven's Last Hunt.

@DetectiveCinema - Seriously, I'd wait to see how Spider-Verse is received before starting too much other shit. Many people seem to be on board with them doing an alternate animated 'verse, and there they could have it all without disrupting the live action stuff happening at Marvel Studios.

If they want it without Spider-Man, have him hunt Venom instead
Dacci
Dacci - 10/10/2018, 5:45 AM
@ossie85 - it won't happen, but they could easily usue Spidey and not ever show Peter Parker. Even include venom. Show Spidey getting the symbiote. Then he becomes a problem on the news. Kraven gets word...comes to hunt him. Kraven figures out the symbiote bweakness..it separated from Spidey ...goes back to Brock.
Dacci
Dacci - 10/10/2018, 5:47 AM
@Dacci - the symbiote could also reproduce while with Spidey and create Carnage. This would give Spidey and venom both motivation to stop him.

@rebellion - I'm thinking we as fans should start a Sony strike, at this stage I'd be game to boycott anything Sony purely for the disgrace that was Venom.

Surely at this point Don't would be better having Kraven face off against Venom or something.

Guarantee if you pull Spider-Man from the MCU his movies will suck again.

Interesting, dont know why they wouldn't use SpiderMan, they put the money down for him, he belongs to them, even if they don't use Holland, use SpiderMan but don't have him take his mask off, use a slightly different suit, it'd be a Kraven film so he'd be a small supporting character, they could've done that with Venom too, maybe the sequel, that way the viewer can imagine it's Holland if they want or not.

And Avi Arad’s Venom obsession will want the writer and director to shoehorn the character in. Yay.

If the writer of the screen play is unaware that Spidey is or may be off limits then he has no business writing the story. It shows a complete detachment from whats going on. If Sony takes Spiderman back it also shows they are completely out of touch with what fans want.

@sikwon - or it shows that the management who hired the writer is horrible?

Sony just doesn't get it. Venom was proof enough that they learned nothing from the Amazing Spider-Man 2 fiasco. It felt like the same messy soulless garbage. So sick of their bs.

@TH29 - yep, any spidey story (regardless of who has the mantle) is nothing without the heart.

If we're gonna be honest, everything probably can’t fit into the MCU. That being said, having Spiderman separated from his supporting cast is gonna get old.
