Jared Leto Confirms MORBIUS THE LIVING VAMPIRE Casting - Check Out Some Fan-Art

Last night brought the surprising news that Suicide Squad star Jared Leto would play Morbius the living Vampire in Sony's planned Spidey spin-off, and the actor has now confirmed his casting with a Tweet.

Following multiple trade reports that Jared Leto (Suicide Squad, Blade Runner 2049) has nabbed the title role in Sony's Morbius the Living Vampire movie, the Academy Award-winner has confirmed his casting by Tweeting out an image of the bloodsucking Spider-Man villain.

Apparently, Leto taking on this role will not have any impact on the planned Joker spin-off that's in the works at Warner Bros. - although it is interesting that the actor has never commented on or confirmed his involvement with that project in this manner.

Check out his Tweet below along with some fan-art from Boss Logic, and be sure to share your thoughts on this out-of-nowhere casting with us in the usual place.

I hope they give him the hand-suckers from the animated series.

Also, I hope I wake up from this ceaseless nightmare.

I doubt this gets made. It’s going to be just like silver and black. MCU started with B level characters, Sony is trying to do this with D level characters.

Amy Pascal should play a victim of Morbius in the film. Then I'd pay to see it.

@Benjamitesandwich - A soulless , bloodsucking parasite who shatters dreams and terrifies any passerby.....vs. Morbius, the living Vampire!

They're making a no-Spider-Man Spider-Man spin-off, about a character who hasn't appeared in the Spider-Man movies, who happens to be a not-Blade vampire, well after the vampire craze has died down, and they cast the guy who so many people hated as Joker that WB is trying to make a movie about a different version of Joker.

Sony really does put the "fun" in dysfunctional, don't they?

1. I could care less about this whole spidey-verse with no spidey
2. That boss logic fan art is garbage

I wouldn’t care about Sony doing whatever they wanted to do if it didn’t interfere with which characters Spiderman actually has a chance at fighting.

Hopefully this is conformation the rumours he's been sacked by WB are true, guess it'd have to be, if you have a new younger Batman you'd have to have a new joker, he was so horrible in the role, weirdly playing a vampire may suit him down to the ground, he looks like Lestat all year round, good luck to him.
