Following the success of Venom, Sony Pictures will be hoping to hit another home run with their next Spidey-less Spider-Man spin-off, Morbius, and the studio is certainly going about that the right way as far as the cast is concerned.

According to Deadline, Jared Harris (Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, The Terror) has joined the production. His role is being kept under wraps for the time being.

Harris will join Suicide Squad's Jared Leto as renowned biochemist Michael Morbius, who becomes a vampiric antihero after injecting himself with a serum derived from bats in an attempt to cure a rare blood disease. The movie will also feature Matt Smith and Adria Arjona.

Morbius will be directed by Daniel Espinosa from a script by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama.

@L0RDbuckethead - Fantastic in Mad Men. I very much disliked how his character was written out. He was a great addition to the show

@webheaded - Same, he was one of my favorites throughout the different versions of SCDP. This gives a little more insight into how he took the news. I forgot he was in Lincoln, too.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I haven't seen either of those, I've heard good things about the Expanse though. I'll have to look into them. Any good?

@L0RDbuckethead - DUDE!!!!!

DROP EVERYTHING. Get on top of this stuff, lol. The Terror is, as you can imagine, a historical horror tv show. A single season with Jared Harris (they are filming a season 2, but it will be set during WW2). Its FANTASTIC. One of the best TV shows of 2018. Watch that first, 10 episodes.

The Expanse is one of the best sci-fi shows on tv; maybe the best. Three seasons long, truly terrific show set a few centuries ahead and occurring throughout the solar system. Get on top of that too, its one of the best shows on TV. 4th season comes out later this year.

@HeavyMetal4Life - What's it on? I honestly have never heard of it. It sounds interesting, I'll definitely check it out.

The Expanse is on my ever-growing list, but I find that I never prioritize Sci-Fi shows these days when binging (outside of Stranger Things), but I'll try. But, I'm thinkin' that's one I'll probably have to wait until it's run it's course before I dive into, since it's already 3 seasons deep.

@L0RDbuckethead - The Terror is on AMC. Not sure when the second season comes out; the first was based on an actual book, which is based on a true story of a group of explorers who all die in an Arctic voyage. The show essentially fills in the gaps of how they died.

The Expanse won't run its course anytime soon. We're probably looking at several more years of that show. The Expanse and Westworld are sci-fi shows you should prioritize!

@HeavyMetal4Life - The Terror sounds like me for sure. I'll definitely get to that one.

Yeah, I was looking at the RT top 100 Sci-Fi shows of all-time after I wrote you, because I knew I forgot to mention something other than Stranger Things. Westworld and Black Mirror are two of my favorites so I guess I can't really say I don't prioritize Sci-Fi - It's just never the top of my list when watching or binging or getting caught up on TV shows - I'm not sure why.

@HeavyMetal4Life - The Netflix Lost in Space is another one that I've been meaning to watch forever, that I haven't yet. I've heard mostly good things.

@L0RDbuckethead - haha well trust me, you don't want to push The Expanse back for some later time years down the road. Its critically acclaimed and frequently praised by various sites as the greatest sci-fi show on TV.

I haven't watched Lost in Space. Not sure exactly why; I did hear some positives, but nothing I saw in trailer footage ever really grabbed my attention.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Same - I was a fan of the movie from the 2000s, but like you said, nothing really sucked me in as far as visuals, so I haven't watched the first season yet.

I'll try and get on the Expanse - no promises though! haha

@DalekCraigWasson - This is Sony not Fox. They don’t always make good movies but the title characters usually at least looked ripped from the comics.

The plot sounds like Venom 2.0 but with a vampire anti-hero fighting an evil vampire instead of anti-hero sympiote vs evil symbiote.

@CowboyNation214 - Oh completely, it all has its formula these movies follow but I did read a separate synopsis of Morbious that sounded like a cut/ paste version of Venom. Instead of a down out journalist it was a dr, but what I read could’ve been a fake.

@theunworthythor you think they’re gonna head that way??? I have a feeling they’re making their way toward a Sinister 6 film slowtime.
