Spider-Man: No Way Home has now been playing in theaters for two weeks, and during its 13th day of release (Wednesday, November 29), the movie hit $536.6 million at the domestic box office.
That makes it the #12 movie in terms of highest-grossing titles in North America, and it's now swung past both Rogue One: A Star Wars Story ($532.1 million) and The Dark Knight ($534.8 million) to snag that spot. Soon, it will pass The Lion King ($543.6 million) before setting its sights on a place in the Top 10 by overtaking Incredibles 2's $608.5 million haul.
In terms of how long it took Spider-Man: No Way Home to reach this number, it sits behind only Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Yesterday, the threequel earned $20.2 million, the third-best second Wednesday ever (proving there's still plenty of life left in this one).
It's unclear when the Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures movie will begin to slow down, but with nothing particularly exciting on the horizon in early January, it should still continue to dominate the box office.
When we spoke to Tom Holland earlier this month, we asked the actor whether he revisited the previous Spider-Man movies for inspiration. "Oh, absolutely. Absolutely, yeah. I think before I started shooting Spider-Man: No Way Home, before the first day, I had rewatched all of their movies," he revealed. "I think I’ve done that for all of my Spider-Man movies. Their films are so fantastic and so rich with details that, you know, I’ve missed in the past so I go back and watch them and steal little things here and there that I love. I have definitely revisited their films."
Spider-Man: No Way Home celebrates the web-slinger's franchise in way that's clearly resonated with moviegoers, and both Holland and Spidey's value have skyrocketed these past couple of weeks.
