SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME TV Spot Teases The Multiverse And Sees Doctor Strange Meet Doctor Octopus

Thanks to Sony Pictures UK, we have another new TV spot for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Featuring more never-before-seen footage, the highlight here is getting to see Doctor Strange meet Doctor Octopus. The villain has clearly been captured by the wall-crawler at this point, and emphasises that while Peter Parker is Spider-Man on his world, it's not Tom Holland's Peter Parker.

We all know which actor was beneath the mask in that reality, of course, and we continue to hope that confirmation will arrive in the form of a new trailer when tickets go on sale this coming Monday. Either way, this is the closest we've come to an acknowledgement of a Variant Spider-Man.

Elsewhere in this TV spot for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Strange better explains Spidey's mission and reveals that if the villains aren't returned to their worlds, it could break reality. We're guessing he's referring to a potential Nexus event or branching of the Sacred Timeline, but little does the Sorcerer Supreme know that reality itself was shattered during the events of Loki

Check out this latest sneak peek in the player below:

"For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk," reads the new synopsis. "When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse."

Among the film's confirmed cast members are Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, J.K. Simmons, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx. Based on the new trailer, we can now add Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans to that impressive list of actors (fingers crossed for Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield).

Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.

Poor Otto. Atleast the Peter Parker he knew didn't make fun of him

@bkmeijer - that does seem like a low blow for the first character to cross over into the mcu from another franchise. Especially since Otto octavius isn't even all that funny of a name compared to the other mcu characters, like happy hogan or Stephen strange.

@bkmeijer - It's the MCU they have to make unfunny jokes most of the time,so expect no less.

@marvel72 - of the family orientation, they're trying to be well-rounded for the entire family. It can be frustrating but you cannot argue with the results.

@Origame - Wow, you're actually taking this as an insult. They literally make fun of the circumstances in Spider-Man 2 when JJJ says "What are the odds that a guy named Otto Octavius winds up with eight limbs?"

@Whaley87 - today I learned someone pointing out a humorous connection is the same thing as nonspecifically laughing at the name.

@bkmeijer - Agreed,he was humiliated by Peter and his gang of bullies

Spider-man likes to make fun of Doctors in the MCU: First Doctor Strange in "Infinity War" and now Doctor Octopus in "No Way Home".

@cocaegelo - I mean, in universe that wasn't really Peter Making fun of Dr strange. He's used to superheroes having a weird alternate name, so it makes sense he'd assume Dr strange would be his alias and not his actual name.

@cocaegelo -Agreed, He's a passive aggressive bully, someone needs to talk to the writers

You know what's awesome.

We have these villains shown, but we really don't know anything about this movie really which is absolutely awesome. Yes, leaks here and there but those kind of were going to be obvious.

Love going into a movie like this, and hopefully it stays that way for the rest of the 3 weeks.

@Menks123 - I'm really hoping that stays the case. There's really no point in showing anything else at this point

@OmegaDaGrodd - Saaaame.

These TV spots are always worrisome for that but so far, nothing major shown.

@Menks123 - ...with leaks we know everything. Like literally, the whole script was leaked. Even without them we know it's gonna be these villains from different universes coming together to fight Spiderman and that's apparently messing with the fabric between universes, so we gotta stop them. We even know how this starts (Peter asks strange to make everyone forget his identity and the spell goes haywire), and we know the climax takes place on the statue of liberty with a captain america shield on it. We know most of the villains in this, being doc ock, green goblin, electro, sandman, and lizard. Venom is gonna have some role in it, whether that's as a sixth member of the sinister six or as a post credit scene/cameo. We know it's crossing over both previous Spiderman franchises. And we know Peter and Dr strange are gonna fight. Without leaks we basically just don't know how this is gonna wrap up or if the other spidermen are in the movie, and the latter we basically do know they're in it.

The only way you're going in completely blind is if you've been living under a rock.

@Origame - Good thing most of the world, myself included, don't read leaked scripts lol.

@Menks123 - ...almost all of my rant is about what we know for a fact about this movie, from officially released materials. Like all I included here about leaks is literally just the first 2 sentences.
Whaley87
Whaley87 - 11/24/2021, 2:52 PM
@Origame - Well then that's a pretty shitty move on your part then if that's the case.
Origame
Origame - 11/24/2021, 2:56 PM
@Whaley87 - ...how? Literally everything I said about the movie is from the official promotional material.
Revelator83
Revelator83 - 11/26/2021, 4:11 AM
@Menks123 - they've done a great job of mixing up trailer stuff to keep people guessing like the train scene in the canyons now inception like city scape and the I can't stop them line being daytime and nighttime. Editing out an attack on lizard there showing alot but what are they really showing from the theatrical cut is the question. Plus all they haven't showed. Will aunt may or happy die? Will doc ock or sandman join with the spidermen? Will Andrew catch mj and redeem himself? Is Matt Murdock in the movie? Is Scarlett Witch controlling Strange? Who is coming that they can't stop? This movie is gonna be a big first chunk of what the multiverse has to offer and MoM will be almost a sequel. I mean Raimi directing can't be a coincidence. I see all these spider men coming back for round 2 maybe more.

Well, this pretty much confirms the scene with them laughing at Doc Ock’s name isn’t in the same room as his cell. Betcha the actual context is with another Peter Parker.
KWilly

The Otto Octavius joke is just... bad. Along with "Let's Scooby Doo this crap". That being said, if they're saving the good jokes for the movie, and dumping the bad ones for the trailer, then so be it.
Benjamitesandwich
Benjamitesandwich - 11/24/2021, 12:04 PM
@KWilly - I think the context for the jokes are absent from the trailers. The room where Peter is laughing at Doc Ock’s name is different from the cavern-looking room of his cell.
KWilly
KWilly - 11/24/2021, 12:08 PM
@Benjamitesandwich - True. Also, some lines are made specifically for trailers only, and aren't even in the film. Remember this from the Civil War trailer?
