Looks great, just hope they improve the overall CGI, as the shots look more like they are from a video game

I've seen the HQ pictures before in the SpiderManNews website. While I agree that the cgi needs work, these are stills from a heavily cgi scene. When watching that last part of the trailer where Spidey and Electro are facing off, it does look stunning in movement and 1080p.

I'm certain that up until the release date of the film, Webb and his team will have these scenes perfected.

By the way, Josh you are using the old synopsis. The new official one is this:

"We've always known that Spider-Man's most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp."

Most of the CGI makes it look like a next-gen/PS4/Xbox One game, obviously not bad but not really good for films. Regardless, I didn't like the 1st but the trailer got my attention, not quite excited by this but it's got my interest...

I never really worry about CGI shots in trailers. I remember when the first CA:TFA trailer came out. By the time the second trailer came out the CGI effects had been completely transformed.

This ASM 2 CGI shots are a long way from complete.

Y'all do realize the movie isn't finished yet

Of course the cgi will be polished up in the next 6 MONTHS!!!
So stop complaining and just wait till the movie comes out....
Captain America winter soldier trailer effects were pretty bad and x-men days of future past trailer didnt even have any yet, it's a long time from now just wait guys.

The Avengers, Man of Steel, Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World cgi effects all looked far superior in the final product than in its first trailers. Why? Because that is actually the industry standard. But let's keep talking about The Amazing Spider-Man, shall we?

Here are screencaps of the first The Amazing Spider-Man, back in 2011:

And here is a screencap from the very same scene and moment in the final product:

Let's make it clear that these are simply screencaps, the pictures aren't not even high quality pictures with full resolution, anyone with their eyes working can notice the difference between the teaser trailer and the final product.
JJJameson
JJJameson - 12/9/2013, 5:16 AM
And even though I'm sure that the teaser trailer cgi scenes will be perfected, they look truly astonishing when in movement, and that's where cgi needs to work, not in cgi pictures.

In movement, this scene looks miles above anything we've seen in Man of Steel cgi fest, and about on par with the beginning of the final battle scene in The Avengers. In motion, this scene works, and I'm sure it'll look even more real and exciting when we finally see it in the big screen.
Spideyfan11
Spideyfan11 - 12/9/2013, 5:38 AM
(sigh) The whole "video-game" cgi complaints just go to show that the general public have no idea what POST PRODUCTION is and how long it lasts. They just started post once shooting wrapped up. with most films post doesn't end until shortly before the film is released. obviously its going to look better by then. Its a CG heavy scene so obviously its not going to look its best in the first trailer that you very same people pushed so hard to get one in the first place.

@MexicanSuperman

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will own 2014, I can feel it. I don't remember this much excitement over a trailer since The Avengers, and I'm not talking just about me. The trailer is around for 4 days now and it's already with 16.6 million views. This is just a crazy amount of views, it's in a pace much more faster than the Cap2 or DoFP trailers.

"lulz dis looks laik a video gaem! lololol"

Stop it. All of you.

In all seriousness, I love how this looks, I was beyond excited with the trailer, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. But I'll try to remain cautiosly optimistic about this, 'cause despite loving TASM I was slightly dissapointed as a fan in a few aspects. I have faith, but we'll have to see.

Damn...those moves...people responsible for fight choreography in TASM series should get awards...finally spidey fighting and running like spidey...not just punch...punch...punch like in Raimi's version.
MercwithMouth

TASM was awesome, TASM2 looks to be even better from the stuff we've got so far.

I just watched all 3 Raimi films yesterday, and I really don't see what people loved so much about SM2...

Molina was horribly cast, and Doc Ock should not be a fat, shirtless crazy man, period. All the shit everyone gives about costumes and looks, and no one ever complains how bad they [frick]ed up Ock. And where's the accent?

It reinforced my love for Willem Dafoe's Goblin, though. He pulled off the perfect attitude for Norman, and did the best he could in the Power Rangers suit (he also did 95% of his own stunts.).

And SM3 is actually a little better now. Once you can step back and look at each character individually, the only one lacking development is Venom, and we all know why he was shoehorned into the movie. And also, the New Goblin design was disgustingly bad.

Really looking forward to TASM2, the cast seems to be spot on, Dane Dehaan is gonna kill it as Harry, should be way better than James Franco's "woe is me" performance. And I can't wait to go Easter Egg hunting for more Sinister Six clues.

Of cause you can see CGI when you freeze image but when you look it in 3D and in cinema or on Blu-Ray, you can´t see it because everything moves so fast.

Look at Man of Steel or Iron Man 3, you can clearly see also video game CGI.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Trailer 1 - 14.4 million(2 DAYS) - Opening day 5.5 millin
Iron Man 3 Trailer 1 - 12.5 million(1 year and 2 month) - Opening day 900 000
Thor: The Dark World Trailer 1 - 15.7 million(8 months) - Opening day 5 million
Captain America The Winter Soldier - 23 million(1.5 month) - Opening day 3.2 million

Everything on youtube, official trailer, main channel.
There are a lot of haters for sure(mostly Tobey, Raimi, DC and Marvel fanboys) but it has even more lovers. I mean look at box office. The Amazing Spider-Man quickest reboots ever is also highest earned box office movie reboots EVER !!!(Even Man of Steel "that everyone waited" didn´t earn that much).
So, i´m sure that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will earn billion. Also, it will be highest box office movie(with hobbit) in 2014.

FreedomFreeLife - 12/9/2013, 6:14 AM
Why you read other people post and report that info?
You really can´t think with your head?
Just like Bieber, never heard or saw but i hate him because "everyone else" hate too...

GREAT LOGIC

I love how people whine about bad CGI by knowing that they have 5 months more to make cgi better(which they will). Also, i mean TASM had better cgi than man of steel or iron man 3. why would tasm 2 cgi look worse than tasm cgi?

And like I said before
I really think this movie is going be close to the billion dollar club
It's coming out on a perfect date(first weekend of May), it doesn't have any competition for weeks, and it's a well known character next to batman and superman.
