In “The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2,” for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are the producers. The sequel is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.

"Though it appears this title won't be marketed outside of Brazil"

Apparently it will, actually. The title should be in portuguese if it was the brazilian title. And the brazilian title, translated to english, is NOT "Rise of Electro", is "Electro's Menace". So it seems it's official that the movie will be called "The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro". Ugh...

Not really liking the Rise of Electro subtitle. Feels kind of unnecessary.

The subtitle isn't used in the US I think it's only an overseas thing. The wolverine had a bunch of subtitles so I would think this is the case for TASM

"Ameaça" doesn't mean "Rise". It means "Threat". Can't get how they came up with "Rise".

So, Rise of Electro is a thing now? Shoot me.

Tempo: Nothing when compared to the likes of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Dr. Strangelove: Or, How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb, or I Killed My Lesbian Wife, Hung Her on a Meat Hook, and Now I Have a Three-Picture Deal at Disney, and so on.

But only 2 min trailer? This means that they won´t show stuff... Maybe action... looks like they try to keep it all in Secret like Catching Fire.

Rise of Electro means he will be in next Spider-Man movie too.
Rise of Electro means he won´t die and will be main focus on TASM2

Oh and I hate "Rise of Electro", Enter Electro would've been much better.

I think that since Jamie Foxx's longevity and popularity and he is the highest paid actor in this movie aaanndd he just got the role by saying, "Hey, let me do it"...they're going to probably want to keep his character very relevant and mark my words,.....if this movie is successful with Electro being the main villain, you'll hear of Electro over and over in comic books and the cartoon from now on. Not only that, but they will begin to depict him as the "Jamie Foxx" electro from now on.......
