Both are good, I prefer TASM I like the action, characterization, and the cast. But SM story was more expansive and not as cliche as TASM.

I think TASM had a far superior cast honestly, and the sequel looks to have so to. Majority of the actors in TASM2 are Oscar/emmy/ golden globe/ noms and winners TASM had a better supporting cast and it's not based on who was there or quantity it's about quality. Sally field had little screen time but we could see that Peter cared about her alot becasue we see him tuck her in and bring her eggs after that big final fight. Uncle Ben and Peter had a better relationship and martin sheen killed it, Emma stone was phenomenal embodying the character. One of the strongest points in amazing spiderman IS the cast and the acting.

TASM is a far better Spider-Man film. That scene at the end of the movie where Peter takes out the eggs from is backpack is more poignant and heartfelt than anything from the original Spider-Man. Uncle Ben's death carries so much more weight in TASM, and instead of being spoon-fed the "With great power" line 50 times through dialogue, we get to absorb it as naturally as Peter does in the story. Pretty much like in Amazing Fantasy No. 15 (Spidey's origin). Uncle Ben doesn't say the line in that story at all. The last panel of the books has the line "And at long last, Peter Parker has learned that with great power, there must always come great responsibility!". So, for me, TASM is the definitive Spider-Man movie, as it embodies the character perfectly for the time frame it takes place in (High School). Spidey doesn't even meet Harry OR Mj until college anyway. And that's gonna be nailed in TASM 2 :D

A lot of scenes are at night because Peter has school during the day. Duh.

TASM was a far better movie than the Raimi versions.

I have no doubt the TASM sequels will be as well.

the only thing i found i didn't like about tasm is that Peter wasn't very conscious of his powers. He's sticking to walls when other people are around, he's throwing footballs and bending posts while other people are around. He is kind of stupid. but tasm had a lot of things i liked too.

i prefer the original. because i grew up with it.
