Notice that in the first few pics, Spidey's wearing his classic costume.

Wtf that looks amazing..
Why didn't Spidey fight the swat lizard team..

Also, this guy should start drawing frickin' comics. THEN people wouldn't complain.

Where does all Spider-man's webbing go? I mean the city of New York must be pissed that Spider-man just leaves his trash on every building.
DraculaX

His webbing probably dissolves.

Yeah the swat team lizards were a big plothole, why having them changing into lizards, and spider-man not fighting them or the movie not showing what happened to them? This was one of the biggest disappointments of the movie to me
RidiculousFanBoyDemands
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 7/8/2012, 8:53 PM
I hope so DragonofDarkness, but still. I can't imagine something strong enough to lift cars and tow airplanes to just dissolve over night. That's just one of the stupid nit picky questions I ask myself about movies like this. They don't change how I feel about the movie one bit, but they are just fun to think about. Another one I have trouble with is how Superman speeds up. But that question is for a different thread.

Okay so I saw this movie again with my wife and I figured out what bugs me about it. It played everything way, way, way too safe. There wasn't much conflict in the film, and the editing was really wonky. The performances were great especially Emma Stone, Martin Sheen, Dennis Leary and Garfield. They did an outstanding job with the boring script they were given.

Yea, I was expecting Spidey to fight the Lizard SWAT team but didn't! Man....!

The lizard with camouflage?? why wasnt that in the movie either?!

Haha! Thanks Nailbiter one of these days I'm just going to post an article with all the dumb comic book questions my friends an I can think of. Hopefully people won't take it too seriously, but I'm sure some will.

I was disappointed that the SWAT lizards weren't in it, but I wouldn't necessarily say its dropping a plot point. The way it was in the movie I just took it as showing the audience how the biological weapon worked.
ATrueHero1987

Question, wasn't Billy Conners cast for this movie??
Tony93
Tony93 - 7/8/2012, 8:59 PM
I have a question considering Superman that I just thought of earlier.. If he has the suit underneath his work attire.. then how the heck does he conceal those big red boots? Size 20 shoes? Idk why I didnt thk about this before..

2nd pic, Is that the lizard using some kind of cloaking power we never saw? Look at the billboard real carful.

Marvel87: Yes, he and Connors' wife have both been cast...but their parts were cut from the final product, apparently. A real shame. Showing their reaction upon seeing Curt as the Lizard could be a little nice additional touch.

@Tony93

Haha I never thought about that! Good one. Anyway, back on this film.

I can't not possibly see that anything they cut from this film would improve on the story. Then again, the Daredevil directors cut is actually a pretty solid movie. Hopefully we get a directors cut of this movie on blu ray. I do hate how this movie didn't promise on anything it promised on during the advertisements.

This film was really good, second best Spidey film(overall with the CBM fans and general audience) to me it's first, BUT a lot was cut from the film IDK why. Connors family was cut and the swat lizards were gonna try and kick Spideys ass at one point I think? But I guess it would have made the film longer and Sony wanted to keep it short.
Jolt17
Jolt17 - 7/8/2012, 9:06 PM
I really prefer the narrow eyes on Spidey's mask, like the one depicted in the images above...a la Gabrielle Del' Otto. It would be great. And, another shame that the S.W.A.T. Lizard scene wasn't extended in the final cut; or at least, they should've shown the S.W.A.T. personnel transforming a little further, like what's shown in the above image. That one troop that grows a snout could be a nice nod.

Oh, yeah. Apparently the Lizard has a chameleon ability there...I'm not sure if I'd like to see that in the actual movie.

Knightrider - 7/8/2012, 9:07 PM
@Tony93, Well if base it on new 52, the 'boots' are actually part of the suit, so may not actually be boots at all, but go on like a sock.

In fact, in Lois and Clark, where he is testing costumes in the pilot episode, you actually see his 'boots' as being more like socks too, so I think they are drawn a lot of the time like boots, but think should be treated as if they were a flexible material

nailbiter111: I first knew him from his work on Bay's Transformers movies, and his concept art for those movies are amazing. He gives you heads-up!? What a luck! I'd love to see a lot more of his work.

Im pretty sure all of us with a common state of mind will be too critical when it comes to comicbookmovies..I had high expectations from this film.. and was let down a bit.. but the action scenes were Good :D
CaptainObvious
CaptainObvious - 7/8/2012, 9:08 PM
What did those SWAT lizards do while Spidey and the Lizard were fighting? Are we supposed to assume that they stood around and did nothing?
RidiculousFanBoyDemands
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 7/8/2012, 9:10 PM
@Tony93

I agree we all can be overly critical and myself included. I went into this movie wanting to love it, I love the look, tone and feel of the movie. However, we were never given the "untold story." We were given the same story just with a different style. I will say this, I am looking forward to the sequel to this movie than a sequel to Avengers. That's not a knock on The Avengers, but I really feel Webb has established a great universe, and hopefully the next script takes advantage of the actors/actresses and gives us more.

Lizard running around throwing grenades to turn swat members to lizards would be awesome!

I hope they consider that in Man Of Steel.. it looks like those are big ol' boots he's wearing.. I'd like to see how he hides em..

Love his look in the first and second pics, besides the silver webbing. Not bad, I just don't prefer it.
Jolt17
Jolt17 - 7/8/2012, 9:11 PM
Tony93: Good question, but that makes more sense than how he hides the cape on his back...and it can appear without being disheveled when he goes into action as Superman!
CaptainObvious
CaptainObvious - 7/8/2012, 9:11 PM
A problem I had with the movie was Aunt May. Not Sally Field, but the way she handles Peter. She seems to do more worrying than parenting. If Peter keeps coming home every night beaten up, why doesn't she just ground him or set a curfew?
Tony93

killing every human in sight but Spidey was too occupied..

The swat team Lizard has a snout! Hahah the Lizard looks way better on screen I think. I wish they showed the Lizard disappear like that in drawing #2. That could have made for some terrifying scenes. Those all look awesome, but I agree with everybody else, I wish Spidey fought the Swat team Lizard.
Tony93
Tony93 - 7/8/2012, 9:15 PM
@Jolt17

Bleh.. I never thought about that either.. I just gave into all the fantasy and never thought about it this hard.. Due to comicbookmovies being "grounded in reality" Im starting to question alot now..
Jolt17
Jolt17 - 7/8/2012, 9:15 PM
I think that can be considered as a plot hole...Connors wants to transform everyone into Lizard mutants because that way everyone's strength, intelligence, aggressiveness, et cetera, will be enhanced...but those S.W.A.T. troops did nothing at all to show those effects.
