Sam Raimi Says "Spider-Man 4" Will Begin Shooting In March 2010!!!

"We're hoping that it's the first week in March," states Raimi.

"He's working on a draft," he continued. "I just gave him some notes and he's doing a rewrite right now."

Raimi is of course referring to Gary Ross. Oh boy, another rewrite or maybe this is the same rewrite reported earlier in the summer. Let's hope so.

"The production is starting to come together," Raimi told splashpage. "I've got a production designer who is starting to design the sets and the environments that the picture will take place in. We just brought aboard Scott Stokdyk as one of the two visual effects supervisors, and I worked with him on all three 'Spider-man' pictures."

We know Toby Mcguire and Kirsten Dunst are set to reprise their roles but what about the other cast members? Who is playing the villain?

"None of the casting has really taken place, but we're starting to think about that now," the director said.

After "Spider-Man 3," I really hope Sam Raimi takes a cue from us fans and gives us an explosive, well written Spidey 4!

No Carnage dammit! Spidey 4 needs to feature Kraven and the Lizard, while introducing Max Dillon in a smaller role that continues into the next picture!

I can't understand why Raimi is stuck on MJ with all of the other women that have been in pete's life!

lol listen to the fans, thats wot he tried to do with spidey 3 people called for venom, we got venom n he was far from brilliant. I like spider-man 3 but hope this will be up to the standard of the 1st and 2nd films!

Im not a huge fan of either Kraven and especially not Lizard - Id much prefer to see Scorpion or Electro!!!

I think they should take their time and film 3 movies all at once. And hopefully they will stop killing everyone off so they can be in other movies.

i say open with shocker or rhino gettin beaten by spidey, then bring in lizard and kraven and black cat so MJ has a real reason to be moody all the time.

josh24 - Electro should be used in a lesser role but kept around so that down the line the Sinister Six can form. The original SS is the one I'm dying to see on the big screen! Not until Spidey 6, though! Throwing together any random assortment of rogues to form the Six is asking for trouble...

Scorpion would work for a subplot in part six, with Mysterio as one of the main villains in that film. I don't see either Electro or Scorpion carrying a film as the sole antagonist, but I've got story ideas for them both!

I think MORBIUS is gonna be the villain. With the huge Vampire phase going on now. Sony is gonna use this popularity for the movie.

They should have Carnage as the villain. Or Lizard. Give Dr. Connors his due. he has been waiting for three movies now.

It seems likely that it will be Carnage, since we had Venom and the symbiote in the lst movie, why wait another 3 or 4 years for Spider-Man 5 to introduce Carnage. And the same goes for the Lizard.

Frogman - Let's not start this again! The Rhino was primarily the Hulk's enemy and matches up much better with him than Spidey! Yes, Rhino has fought Spidey, but I don't see the point, as he has never really shined when going against the web-head! He's just portrayed as a big dumb oaf, which is a waste of the character!

Yes to the Shocker idea, though!

JonF: I think they should introduce MacGargan in Spider-Man 4 as a PI hired by JJJ to investigate Spider-Man's secret ID (explaining the rumour of the return of Ben's killer) and from there have him become The Scorpion - he deserveshis own movie IMO!

@JonF: In all honesty I just wanna see Rhino in a film! :P It'd be great to see him in a Hulk film but they dont seem overly enthusiastic about making one of them and if they do it'd be the leader there! Just a minor villain in the beginning there that couldnt carry a film thats all i ask for!
