We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features:
Director: Marc Webb
Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn
Sally Field as May Parker
Campbell Scott as Richard Parker
Embeth Davidtz as Mary Parker
Colm Feore as Donald Menken
Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino
Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn
Marton Csokas as Dr.Kafka
B.J. Novak as Alistair Smythe
Martin Sheen as Ben Parker
Chris Zylka as Flash Thompson
Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy
Felicity Jones in an Felicia

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters May 2, 2014.

I'D LIKE TO SEE HE BECOME AN EVEN MORE TO COMIC LOOKING GOBLIN, EVERY INTERPRETATION OF THE GOBLIN HAS ALWAYS BEEN TECHY..I'D LIKE TO SEE A BORN FROM SCIENCE BUT BECOMING IT'S OWN CREATURE ENTIRELY KINDA THING.

I think Norman took the cure/venom, as he has similar claw like nails and green splotches of skin like Harry did, but who knows.

It's crazy how easily Green Goblin can be translated to film but they keep dropping the ball.
This goes for EVERY comic book character..the work is already done, the look has already been established in the books.

Movies can tweak the comic look a bit but just follow the look that made the character popular to begin with.
It that simple.

I LIKE TO POST IN CAPS IN HOPES THAT I MIGHT GET HEARD. I AM UPSET THAT COMIC MOVIES ARE NOT REAL, LIKE THE COMICS. EVERY ACTOR SHOULD LOOK DISTORED LIKE A ROB LIEFELD DRAWING. ONLY THEN I WILL BE HAPPY THAT COMPLETELY UNREALISTIC, MAGICAL, MUTATES, MUTANTS AND ALIENS LOOK LIKE THEY DO AS THEY ARE DRWAN BY IMAGINATION AND A PENCIL. ONLY THEN I WILL BE HAPPY. OH WAIT, THEY CALL THEM CARTOONS.

They say he dies but you never see his body. I'm thinking he faked it and then wanted to see what will happen to Harry if he took the venom, using his own son as a guinea pig is very Norman.

But that is if Norman hasn't take it already though

Watched this last night. It's shit. Slow paced, action scenes are in terrible CGI, love story makes me hate both of them, Green Goblin was rushed, Electro is a pushover with no real reason for being a villain, and the ending is terrible. Honestly it makes Spider-Man 3 look like Citizen Kane. Glad I didn't waste my money on it.

Harry was good as the Goblin but his motivations were confusing as hell. Best CBM villain this year so far is the Winter Soldier.

Saw this film. It was good but far from a classic.

I thought this movie was amazing myself. I don't quite understand all the negativity people have been giving it. I found it to be spectacular. Action, drama, comedy were well balanced in my opinion. Definitely far greater than the first one. Garfield makes a great Spidey. Hope anyone reading this who hasn't seen it feels better about seeing it now. Can't wait for the third outing.

@mcny

Agreed. Both villains in ASM2 were pretty simplistic, but because they were done so well you kind of don't mind. I loved ASM2 but cbm of the year so far is definitely CA:TWS.
Overall, happy though as both Spidey and Cap are in my top 3 favorite heroes.

This film had the same problems as the previous one. It imitates many of the previous beats of the Raimi movies in a less substantive way. The Harry/Peter dynamic was more carefully and fully developed the first time around.

But am very intrigued with the Spiderverse both films are establishing.

There was a lot to like in the film.

In a perfect world Marvel could get the rights back to Spiderman and do his world justice and add him to the Marvel film universe. I like what they have done with the suit at least in Raimi's versions the CGI Spiderman looked so much like a cartoon to me. There needs to be a real Professor X to control the world (including me)to stop spending money on lost Marvel properties so they would become unprofitable and rights could revert back to Marvel.

And a certain epic scene from the comics was handled as perfectly as anyone could have asked.

The suit healed Harry, why was he still after Peter's blood? lol He was more into getting revenge and completing his father's legacy. The suit healed him after he took the Spider venom. You're right, I was just too hyped up about the film. Cap 2 is better written and has better villains.

The Norman pic seems very out of place amongst all the Peter and Gwen photos. Cooper seemed to have potential, pity he wasn't given more to do. Peter and Gwen's relationship was definitely the movie's biggest strength.

well i had mixed feelings about this movie:

SPOILERS!

i was really stretched out to much the relationship between gwenn en peter... come on.. how many times can you brake up and come back together. it was to forced everytime. alltough they did there best to hide it.

jamie foxx was cool. i really like his acting. electro was really cool when he turned into electro

green goblin... well i dont know. he turned bad to quickly for me. wy not wait with that for Spiderman 3? i had a small spiderman 3 (with tobey) vibe with this movie at the end.

rhino was the coolest in my eye's and he only showed up for the last 2 min. that cgi with the suit was really cool!

the action was pretty amazing in this one when they finaly goth to it. even in 3D. the webslining in slomo is a pretty cool gimmick.

I've never seen any actor perfectly nail Peter or Harry to be honest. McGuire had the nerdy everyman part down as Peter but never was enough of a wise ass in costume. Garfield is too Emo as Peter and tries too hard to be edgy forcing jokes. Franco is too nonchalant to be a young Harry while DeHaan is so angry and bratty. Harry is supposed to be neurotic, insecure and frightened due to his overbearing dad. When he becomes the 2nd GG it was him snapping and going insane from witnessing his dad's death at the hands of Spiderman.

Well, yeah, Harry was going to die from the Osborn curse at some point, but I'm not sure if I'd agree he "was dying", seeing how his father apparantly lived for dozens of years with the illness. He got the news that he was afflicted, made one attempt at finding a solution and after that he went off the rails.

I really wish the character had been introduced in some way in the first movie. :(
RamonSuarez

And Electro's character arch was just generic. He could have been replaced by any second rate Spidey villain and the plot wouldn't have changed.

"I really wish the character had been introduced in some way in the first movie. :("

This 100 times. They just introduce him after years of being gone from Peter's life and expect us to believe they're best friends without missing a beat.

Best acting job in the movie.

@BatManiac

Though I am unlikely to share your sentiments for this film, doesn't Harry's entire motivation bring up the issue of Peter being a complete [foo foo] for not helping his best friend? I know why he doesn't what to, cause of side effects and blah blah, but still!? Or is the scene handled in such a way where he doesn't come across as the Amazing Spider-[foo foo].

@Ramon

Do you honestly think they will actually cast 16-17 year old actors around the time of inevitable 3rd reboot?
