Sony's had a rough week, but here's a bit of good news. Not too long ago, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced their shortlist for the Makeup and Hairstyling category in the 87th Academy Awards and the list included two Sony Pictures-produced films: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the critically acclaimed Foxcatcher.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy & Disney's Maleficent also scored spots on the list, with GOTG being a likely favorite to secure a nomination and/or possibly win the category after featuring some of the most impressive makeup work ever seen in a Marvel Studios film. Check out the full list below:

Members of the Academy’s Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Branch will gather on January 10, 2015 to view 10-minute excerpts from each of the seven films. After the screenings, the members will vote to nominate three films for final Oscar consideration.
