Incarcerated bank robber Herman Schultz has escaped from Ryker’s Island days before the scheduled start of his trial on multiple counts of armed robbery, assault, and fleeing the scene of a crime. Schultz gained notoriety by committing his alleged crimes with the use of a homemade vibratory device that was capable of shaking a steel vault door off its anchor hinges.

A Ryker’s Island Corrections Department spokesman, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Schultz escaped by creating a hole through the three-foot thick concrete wall of his prison cell.

The source said officials believe Schultz crafted vibratory gauntlets using materials he had cobbled together in the prison’s workshop over the eight-week period he’d spent in the penitentiary. Questions remain regarding how Schultz managed to leave the island and navigate the notoriously difficult currents. The Corrections Department source speculated that Schultz had outside help, saying, “He couldn’t have just pointed his wrist-things at the water and vibrated his way over the East River, could he?”

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features:
Director: Marc Webb
Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn
Sally Field as May Parker
Campbell Scott as Richard Parker
Embeth Davidtz as Mary Parker
Colm Feore as Donald Menken
Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino
Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn
Marton Csokas as Dr.Kafka
B.J. Novak as Alistair Smythe
Martin Sheen as Ben Parker
Chris Zylka as Flash Thompson
Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy
Felicity Jones in an unspecified role

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014.

Besides Batman, Spidey is the only one capable of having his own shared universe. Loving the direction Sony is taking the franchise.

I've been saying it from the get go, I said that they would introduce villains using the 'Virals' that they keep going on about. And I'm sorry but its not working for me. I wanna see the villain, I wanna see how he became the bad guy. I get that we dont need to see the origins for say Goblin, Venom, Lizard now that we've had them and other characters from the original three films but doing it just on the net isn't good as not many people will enjoy waiting for the next so called article.

616 Shocker - or noting. As for if he'll appear in anything - Sinister Six or minor character is the best we can hope for.

Always wanted to see Shocker in these Spidey movies, even like an opening scene where Spidey stops him from robbing a jewelry store or bank. Shocker and Scorpion are the 2 i think would be awesome to see.

I don't understand why so many of you are hating on the "virals" for this movie? They're going out of their way to give us fans something extra. And they're also making room for cameos. Even if it's a throw-away line that only real Spidey fans would catch.

For instance, we get a scene at the beginning of ASM-2 where Gwen asks Peter how his day went and he responds with "Did you read in the paper about that guy who broke out of prison with homemade earthquake gauntlets? Well he's back in prison and I have a killer migraine".

You can't tell me you wouldn't love something like that? Personally I've always really liked Shockers suit in the comics and I think he would be a fun character on screen but I wouldn't expect any studio to spend enough money to make him a main villain so I'm more than cool with just a reference. Even if it ends with this Bugle run. That alone tells me they care enough about us as fans to at least give a cool little shout out.

Unlike Josh Trank, who seemingly couldn't give less of a shit about the source material if he tried.... that's not related to this article so I'll stop, post is long enough anyway lol.
