Andrew Garfield Says He Has The Best Live-Action SPIDER-MAN Suit

Out of Sony's three live-action Spider-Men, which costume do you think is the best? Andrew Garfield thinks his suit reigns supreme due to its functionality.

We're back with another early excerpt from Marvel's Spider-Man: No Way Home- The Art of the Movie which doesn't officially release until August 1. It looks as if a few delivery services have mailed out copies a tad bit early, and there are copies already floating out in the wild on social media.

Previously, The Amazing  Spider-Man 2's Andrew Garfield discussed the possibility of his webhead returning to the MCU after his Peter Parker teamed up with Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In a new excerpt where Garfield is asked to pick who has the best Spider-Man costume among the three, Garfield selected himself.

"The eyes on mine are definitely the best,"  Garfield said about his suit.  "The eye shape is just the most open and friendly and, I don't know, sweet. I would say, just practically my suit is the best, because I have zippers on my wrist so that I can get my hands out. You get more breaks.  But none of the suits are that much fun to wear."

Do you agree with Garfield's assessment? If you're a veteran of the site, you'll recall that when Garfield's Spider-Man costume was first revealed, many fans complained that the texture of his first suit resembled a basketball.

These days, most fans are coming around to Garfield's way of thinking and agree that his costume- particularly the mask, is the best.

There's also the fact that Tom Holland's Spider-Man has donned several different costumes across his numerous MCU appearances. In the final moments of No Way Home, Holland's Peter Parker ditched his Stark Industries' armor and wore something more similar to the Spidey costume from the comics.

Sony Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal previously stated that a fourth Spider-Man film with Holland and Zendaya was in development but was currently paused due to the ongoing WGA strike. With the MCU leaning heavily into the multiverse concept, perhaps Maguire and Garfield will return to critique Holland's new homemade suit.

Maguire had the best suit, hope Raimi comes back to do another film in his series.

It’s still weird how the producers on TASM1 said “We need a new look for Spidey. Make the suit look dirty and grungy, give it tons of texture, and constantly film him in shadow.” And then two years later it was “Screw it! Just give him the comics costume! Cloth suit, giant eyes, make it super colorful!”

Yes.

Despite a number of problems with his movies, Garfield had the best suit, the best Spider-man quips, and the best swinging.

Too bad the stories were bad and his Peter wasn’t a great take.

@mountainman - Agreed. Good Spidey, not so much of a Parker.

@Fogs - His relationship with Gwen was the only Parker highlight from those movies.

@mountainman - Yeah, but that was more of a storyline thing. I really dislike the smartass Peter.

@Fogs - I’ll make the argument that, besides the look, The Lizard was well done in the first movie.

If Holland and Zendaya being sort of a package deal is the case, then the No Way Home ending was a weird choice. I think they could've came up with a better reason, to explore the multiverse, and bring in the other Spider-Men.

I do love the TASM2 suit but I can't wait to see more of the Romita inspired suit.

Yeah, the TASM2 reigns supreme...

Up until NWH's last scene.
That one was simply perfect.

Nah, final MCU suit is my favorite.
TASM2 suit was great, but hated the webpatern, the webshootes were too wonky and to high up his arm... and the Spider logo on his chest was to low.

But to be fair! Almost all Spidey suits looks epic when in action.

@OptimusCrime - I like the web pattern spidey suit in the first TASM

@PlusUltra - I'll just go ahead and say it was refreshing to finally not have the raised webbing everywhere. Never liked it.

This one looked more like the Marvels' Alex Ross suit type of material.

@blitzburgh - i get why you might differ. I for one love the Spidey from the comics, so thats my baseline.

@Razorface1 - not even close to comics. Don't remember Peter bullying flash like he did in the gym. Don't remember him being six foot in the comics either

Nothing but facts.

I will forever have a soft spot for those Raimi ones tho.

Totally agree, loved the huge eyes. Plus Garfield had the best body type for Spidey, kinda tall and lanky. He really got the contorted poses down great, and had best web swinging. Looked very real compared to the others.
