Spider-Man: No Way Home brought back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker Variants, though it was the latter who found redemption with his return. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 wasn't a particularly good movie, and Garfield was unceremoniously dropped from the franchise when the decision was made to reboot the character for the MCU.
While there hasn't been a huge amount of demand for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 since then (mostly because it sounded like a terrible movie), that's changed with No Way Home's release. Fans now want to see Garfield given another chance, and providing the story doesn't revolve around Norman Osborn's decapitated head and a magic resurrection potion, we're definitely on board.
As it happens, Uncharted star Tom Holland is another #MakeTASM3 supporter!
"I would love to see The Amazing Spider-Man 3. I think what was so wonderful was how Andrew was able to kind of make amends with the character and the studio, to kind of win the general public back," the actor said during a recent interview with ComicBook.com. "That scene where he saved Zendaya, like, the fan reactions in the theater, was so spectacular. So, should Sony decide to do that, they would have my full support and, obviously, so would Andrew."
Garfield has made it clear he would be on board to suit up as Spider-Man again, so there's really no reason for this not to happen. Holland's Peter, for example, can remain part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the Amazing Spider-Man swinging into Sony's spinoffs like Venom 3 and Madame Web.
We'll see what happens, but something tells us we haven't seen the last of Garfield's webbed wonder.
