After [SPOILER] Andrew Garfield's return in Spider-Man: No Way Home, there's a very vocal fanbase on social media hoping they can convince Sony Pictures to #MakeTASM3. We're hoping they're not referring to the original plan for that threequel involving Norman Osborn's severed head and a potion capable of raising the dead, because, quite frankly, it sounded abysmal.
The studio once had ambitious plans for The Amazing Spider-Man franchise, though, with that third movie followed by a fourth and Sinister Six sandwiched somewhere between them.
With Tom Holland's web-slinger clearly set to stick around the MCU, Sony needs a Spider-Man for its "spinoff" movies, so why not have them all take place in a slightly rebooted Amazing reality? Morbius appears to be making use of that world's Oscorp, while Eddie Brock not having heard of Spidey could be addressed in a roundabout way or because Peter or Venom have been sent back to the wrong reality. That latter idea could have interesting ramifications moving forward.
Regardless, this new fan-made poster (via Screen Rant) could be The Amazing Spider-Man 3 fans have been waiting for. As well as bringing Shailene Woodley back as Mary Jane Watson (she was cut from the second movie), we see Venom, and more surprisingly Rhino, get the spotlight.
Honestly? We'd watch this version of the threequel...
