The Lizard: Was the portrayal bad or actually good?

The Lizard: Was the portrayal bad or actually good?

Here are my thoughts on the "lackluster" villain in The Amazing Spider-Man.

Everyone on here by now knows that The Lizard is my all time favorite supervillain. I have seen quite a bit of complaints from people about The Lizard's portrayal in The Amazing Spider-Man. Yes, It was disappointing to not see Martha and Billy in the movie or at least a mention would have been at least nice so the character could have had a little bit more development in the film. Here are my thoughts on the portrayal of the character.

Dr.Curt Connors: I feel that Dr.Connors was wonderfully played in the film by Rhys Ifans. I feel the character had slightly more depth than Otto Octavious which made the audience care for him more. As a regular person, I feel Connors was portrayed how I always thought he should have been. Sympathetic and tragic. Watching the character on screen gave me the feeling I would get when I would read the comics.

Now, for his reptillian alter-ego.

The Lizard: Alot of people have complaints about him. Personally, I don't see why, other than a couple bad shots. The Lizard was portrayed as he should have been. He always had the cartoony and silly motive of making everyone reptiles like him. But, what do you expect from a villain who is a 8 foot lizard? He isn't an insane villain. The lizard serum infected Connors' mind. Giving The Lizard a personality of his own. I was glad they gave him the coat in the film, it looked good but not as good as he looked overall. Plus, pants on a giant lizard would have looked rediculous.

Overall: I know this is a very short editorial, but I wanted to get my point out there. The character was perfect with the only minor problem being no Martha or Billy.
