The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors/The Lizard
Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben
Sally Fields as Aunt May
Denis Leary as George Stacy

RELEASE DATE: July 3rd, 2012.

WTF was that? The first one was weird and not funny at all imo, if that is their idea of a "funny" Spidey then we may be in trouble.

The last one reminded me too much of the scene in Wolverine when he was chopping stuff up with his new claws.

People, how is pretending to sneeze something out of your hands "witty"? I think you mean slapsticky and childish.

@SpiderFan35-really? What was it about the first clip that you DIDN'T find funny? If you truly are indeed a "spiderfan" then you'd know that a little comedy goes hand in hand with spidey.

I myself prefer DC/Vertigo stuff, but I also enjoy the occasional Marvel title. I've read some spidey, primarily Ultimate Spider-Man and really enjoyed them, particularly because OF the humor.

I was actually surprised at the amount of humor in the first and third clips. Loved them and am highly anticipating this one. Altho for awhile I was dubious about a reboot so soon after the previous ones. After all it did take quite awhile for the Batman franchise to be rebooted. That turned out well so high hopes for this.

First one is a riot. Spidey isn't Spidey unless he is making wise-cracks.

Definitely hit and miss material. But I like the exploration of his strength.

Reminds me of WOLVERINE in the bathroom with his new claws, but still. I like that aspect.

did any body else notice that the web shooters light up when he activates them... pretty lame , not to mention the design and placement of them too far up on his forearm. Glad there is going to be humor back in Spidey but so far not impressed with the production/costume designs.
SheldonCooper
SheldonCooper - 4/2/2012, 11:37 AM
To those saying it looks cheap. First of all, the clips are 4/3, quality is crap, this is what clips out an app would look like. Plus the movie is shot in 2:35, and clips look like they have been reframed.

Anyway, looks fantastic and hilarious.
