It's speculation time. Former Eastenders star Sam Strike has apparently been offered a major role in a big US movie, and some Tweets from the actor and his manager have led many to assume that it might just be Marvel Studios' new Wall Crawler. Click on for more, and let us know what you think...

Obviously this could turn out to be nothing to do with Spider-Man, but it's worth a bit of speculation for a quiet Monday morning. 21-year-old British actor Sam Strike (formerly of UK soap Eastenders) has landed a big US movie role, and many seem to think that it could be our new Spidey. There's no real evidence to support this, but he's the right age, has the right look, and if you take a look at his Instagram page there are several superhero-related pics, including one of Strike in a Spidey mask with the caption "I'm Spider-Man". Possible misdirection?



Again, still nothing too solid, but it's certainly one possibility. With his former Eastenders cast-mate Ben Hardy landing a mysterious role in X-Men: Apocalypse, is this a sign that Hollywood is looking to British soaps for their new batch of superheroes?

UPDATE: Latino Review's El Mayimbe has done some digging, and he reckons it's either X-Men: Apocalypse or Deadpool which Strike has been cast in.

Incase you don't know, Eastenders is a hugely popular, long running soap here in England.
So if this is true it's huge news since he's only recently quit it, and to get a huge role like Spidey as he's still an unknown pretty much is a big deal.

My GF watches east enders so I've seen a couple of episodes, he's pretty decent; high quality as soap actors go. I reckon he'd be a great shout for Spidey, although admittedly, it's a bit out of left field. Then again, Chris Hemsworth was a soap actor.

Well, he is not saying that it is a comicbookrole, so i don't think he could say to much... i think it would be to much if he said comicbookmovieleadrole.

It could be a movie we don't know about yet (Prehaps that rumored Attack on Titans movie from Sony?)

No idea who this guy is, but give him brown hair and I think he could pull the look off. Looks a bit pretty boyish, but I'm sure they could nerd him up. Still though, give me Dylan O'Brien.

Shia Lebouf should be spider man. You all know he would pull it off. Spider-Man is an annoying little shit. Isn't Shia Lebouf the same? Whatever. Spider-Man is lame. Next thing we'll see will be the character taking over every marvel movie the way wolverine took all the damn attention in every x men movie. "But he wasn't in First Class!" Yeah then what happened in that sequel?
