Electro has the potential of being the most explosive and visually stunning character in Spiderman movie history. With his electric blasts and sheer power he can level a city block. Explosions, Explosions Explosions, Electro is going to bring fiery damage to his opponents. I see Electro exploding buildings and walking through the fire with glowing eyes and electricity hands coming for his next opponent. Taking out helicopters and planes in the air, and shooting blasts at Spiderman.No one will be able to come near him.

Of course Spiderman will dodge the blasts listening to his spider sense(Or the sheer feeling of his hairs on his body standing up underneath his costume before Electro hits him with a blast. If you don't like Spiderman getting his costume torn,get ready he is going to be burned ravaged.I visualize a scene where by his sheer power he blacks out New York City and the only light you see is his electricity fighting Spiderman on a SkyScraper.

Helicopters and Spotlights are the only things you see in the climatic battle while they fight to the death. Electro is going to bring the pain in Amazing Spiderman 2.

The question is Will they be able to stop him?

Spida Out

Since we know Electro is going to be full electricity...How do you feel about it?

I don't get why everybody has a problem with TASM Lizard. Besides the labcoat and purple pants he looks exactly like ditko originally drew him. He's perfect. You all complain about not staying true to the source material but when they actually do you still bitch and moan.

@TheAmazingSpiderWill
The way he looked wasn't really the problem(although it could've been better), he was just a dull villain with a stupid plan.

In an unbiased opinion, The Lizard is the second best Spider-Man villain in the franchise only behind Green Goblin. The reason for that is cause Willem Dafoe was outstanding in the role. In TASM, you understand Dr.Connors' character and his motives. The Lizard stuck to the original design minus the labcoat and pants. He looked like a giant humanoid lizard. CGI wasn't the best but, people keep hammering him for the look and his "plot". Um, hello! He's a fricking giant lizard, what other "master plan" would he have? No, the Dr.Connor/Lizard and Spider-Man complicaties (sorry if I misspelled) wasn't really put into the film, although it would have been a plus. You got enough information to understand his character. The Lizard alter ego is pretty simple to understand. He wants to rid the world of weaknesses and feels the best way to do so is turn everyone into giant lizards cause he feels reptiles are smarter creatures. Anyone who doesn't like the portrayal obviously wasn't much of a fan of the character anyways (in my opinion).

@imadick: The way I look at it, they'll improve on Electro. He was always a shit villain with retarded powers. The way Jamie Foxx talked about this version for the movie, it sounds like they greatly improved upon the character.

I like the fact that Electro in TASM 2 is loosely based on the Electro character in the comics cause as I said, the comicbook version sucks. The Lizard in TASM was the one we know from the comics. Just a little less depth, a lizard without pants and a coat and the defeat the enemy/save my friend scenerio. Sure, the general audience may think that he's going crazy. Which works. But, anyone who read the comics knows that The Lizard is developing his own personality and is taking over Dr.Connors' mind. Things aren't going to look perfect in the translation from page to screen. Especially when your character is a giant lizard. It worked so, get over it.

I just don't understand the hate for The Lizard but love for Doc Ock in film. They have the same level of depth, you understand their motives and the characters themselves. The only difference is Doc Ock has for mechanical arms and The Lizard is a giant humanoid lizard. Lizards' "plot" is comicbook-y, that's really the only main difference besides the look of the character and their motives. Hell, if you ask me. The high school fight beats the clocktower/subway fight as the best fight in a Spider-Man movie.

I hope to god that, Rhino isn't a villain in the movie and that Giamatti just plays J.Jonah Jameson.

@Soto: Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2 has about as much depth as Curt Connors in TASM. I defend his look and the faithfulness of the character in the movie cause that is always the thing people bitch and moan about when it comes to his character in the movie. No mention of his family cause they don't fit into the story. You have to know how he lost is arm to truly understand his motive and that he wants it back?

Rhino Is like Electro. Unless you completely change his character for the movie, it's going to be a very uninteresting and crap movie. They're one dimensional. Sure, Batman movies proves that thugs can be villains too and not have superpowers. But, they have to be interesting. Rhino smashes things and attempts to destroy his objective unless he has to get money or something. Electro is pretty much the character from infamous. Boring. It's a matter of opinion. I don't like people's opinions on different subjects but I respect them and I feel they should respect mine. Why bash on someone? Not saying you did, just speaking in general.

I don't feel Rhino should be in TASM 2 as a villain cause there is too much going on anyways, of you all complain bout the first one. What makes you think a second villain, especially Rhino of all villains would be a benefit for the movie? Electro got a change and it's the best thing I've heard about the character and it'll be a benefit.

@imadick

I wasn't "lumping" the entire Internet into one category. I was talking people like you. And how exactly does a man covered in scales not look reptilian? And it looks almost exactly like the original lizard did! Are we not seeing the same picture here? Granted he had a stupid cliche plan, but I was talking the look, which you were originally complaining about. We weren't talking about the story behind the villain we were talking his appearence. Which is damn near the original comic book design.
And yes I am a fan of TASM
And I am also fan of Raimis films.
And the comics which I have been reading for more than 15 years.

@Bazinga85
Yeah but we were talking the appearence not the characters story.

Lizard, really? Come on man. EVEN IF the Lizard had as much depth as Doc Ock, consider what happened.

Doc Ock (2004) was a friend of Doctor Connors, set up to meet Peter through Harry, where the two hit it off and Parker couldn't have been more impressed. Not so much mentoring as it was idolizing with interaction. BUT, something went wrong with his experiment, and BOOM, his arms became fused to his body. The experiment's public failure cost OSCORP millions, sending Harry into a drunken depression. More importantly, Octavious' wife was killed in the experiment.

Doc Ock has an artificial intelligence driving him now, having him recreate the experiment and perfect it, as it was what the arms were MADE for. Because Octavious is so broken, he is subdued and compliant.

The Lizard (2012) was a mentor to Gwen Stacy, a friend of Richard Parker, and a would-be mentor to Peter. We get the immediate feeling as he introduces himself that he ultimately feels crippled by his stump, although he will go on to claim that no, he is a scientist before anything. He is tempted by the ability to grow back his arm, which becomes a great perk to trying the formula on a human subject - himself. It begins to take control of his mind, and soon his goal becomes no crazier than Doc Ock's - to make people BETTER.

So what's wrong? Well apart from what Soto has listed, the OBVIOUS fact that while some people may find Connors interesting, Doc Ock came first. Not just in the comics, but Alfred Molina was a villain before Rhys Ifans.

I hate to use the words, but there it is: the Lizard is a rip-off. Adding to it, his pressure at OSCORP only makes him THAT MUCH MORE like the villain of the first movie.

He's stale on arrival.

Yup the Lizard was way lame, not only did he have Goblin's origin; forced into self experimentation by the suits but he had a dumb motive.

The whole reason he went after Ratha was to stop him from experimenting on humans. After that he decides to pull a Magneto and mutate everyone. On top of that he's a cross-gen expert but seems totally unphased by the fact that Peter Parker/Spider-Man is cross-gen with all the benefits and none of the crappy side effects or need for constant dosing.

There was no tragedy or anything in the TASM version of the character and he did not look like what Ditko drew he looked more like the Alpha from I am Legend to me.

As for Electro he could be cool but I wouldn't bank on the Spider-sense battle. At present Spidey can't even hear a police helicopter let alone sense it, but he's a pro when it comes to flies - go figure....

Whoa this is a lot more comments than I care to read. Anyway, I agree with you Spidatrav. I've been hoping for a good 3D fight between Spider-man and Electro since the beginning . And after the high school fight in ASM 1, I'm pretty confident in Webb.

I'm actually really looking forward to this film.

By the 3rd or 4th movie we should see Doc Ock.

Hope electro will be cool like this. With this many bad guys, I'm hoping there is a Kingpin-like mastermind behind them all.

Lizard was a horrible villain. He had a cheezy scheme and as breakUBatman said already, he didn't even seem to realize that Peter was the succesful outcome of a cross-species experiment

Maybe so far yes. But if mysterio is portrayed correctly someday, that sir would be awesome and would probably be better than electro.

@ Jollem

That's interesting

Blonsky
Obadiah Stane
Vanko
Justin Hammer
Loki
Laufey
Red Skull
Zola

Out of curiosity which MCU villain's do you think he is better than?

breakUbatman
breakUbatman - 3/8/2013, 2:32 AM
Interesting.

I also thought Blonsky lost his edge once he became full Abomination just like Connors who I only found sympathetic when he first regrew his arm. Outside of the fights I can't think of a good Lizard scene.

Only people I'd agree Lizard surpasses are Zola and Laufey

Lizard marched and rivaled Spidey in his fights. Such a good villan.
