WISHLIST: Tell Us What You Want From Marvel's SPIDER-MAN
Last night we got the news that almost broke the internet: Spider-Man is coming home to Marvel Studios -- though Sony retain some of the rights! It's an unprecedented situation, and we want to know what you guys want to see from yet another big-screen incarnation of the Webhead.
For our last Wishlist, we asked what you'd like to see from The Amazing Spider-Man 3, but clearly that's moot now! This had been rumored to be happening for months, and the latest report indicated that the deal was done -- but late last night Marvel made it official: Spider-Man is coming home... kinda. Fans rejoiced and rightfully so, but it's not as simple as Marvel bringing the character into the MCU as Sony still retain rights, and will produce future projects with Spidey. Now we are facing yet another reboot for the Wall Crawler, and that opens up an entire new realm of possibilities, and potential problems too.
Some of the details are still being ironed out by the looks of things, but apparently Sony are still moving ahead with their planned spin-off films (Sinister Six etc) and then more solo Spidey flicks after he makes his Marvel debut; possibly in Captain America: Civil War. Word is that, understandably enough, Andrew Garfield will not be reprising the role, and that means we'll most likely be looking at a new director post Civil War. Bad news for fans of Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man movies (they're out there!), but I think most of us will be looking forward to Marvel's fresh take on the character.
But what should that be? Would you even like to see another Peter Parker, or should Miles Morales get his chance? Hey, what about Spider-Gwen! Who should play him/her? Which director would best suit a solo Spidey Marvel outing? Would you like yet another telling of the character's origin story, or should that be skipped over entirely? If so, which comic arcs (if any) should Marvel be looking at? New heroes/villains that we haven't seen in live-action yet -- basically anything and everything you can think of. We'll choose the most popular/interesting choices and put another article together next week highlighting your best ideas.
