Margot Robbie On Where SUICIDE SQUAD Falls Between AVENGERS And THE DARK KNIGHT

In yet another interview to promote Focus, Suicide Squad's Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) has revealed how exactly she landed the job - does she have the fans to thank? - and where David Ayer's movie falls in terms of tone between The Avengers and The Dark Knight...

Talking to MTV News recently, Margot Robbie was asked how she ended up landing the role of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad. As it turns out, she didn't have to audition, and it makes you wonder whether Warner Bros. took note of the massive fan support that the actress has had for this role ever since The Wolf of Wall Street was released. "I actually got offered this one, I didn’t audition, which is a real step up as an actor when you can get offered things," she said before revealing that her and Will Smith "didn’t have to do chemistry reads or anything like that, and then I already knew, vaguely knew Jared Leto, who’s playing the Joker." While Robbie wasn't willing to give away any plot details, she did have this to say about the kind of tone that David Ayer is aiming for: "I think on a scale of like, ‘Dark Knight’ is here and ‘Avengers’ is here, I think it’s more on the ‘Dark Knight’ side of things." Will this be the case for all of DC's movies? We'll have to wait and see...

DC isn't making an r rated movie.
That wouldn't be a good starting point for a cinematic universe I think.

Let's be honest, David Ayer saw Wolf of Wall Street and said "that's my Harley!" Like Snyder with The Social Network and Eisenberg.

I predict that this thread will be intense, and since I like to add firewood and then pour water on the flames, calm down with a few cozy gifs

People are going to lose their minds over the dumb "tone" question, but I think it's more interesting she was offered the role and didn't even have to audition. I didn't know that. Speaks to how highly they valued her for Harley, which means they're pretty damn confident that she's the right choice. Very awesome casting.

Well I hope it's more of a DC style than a Marvel. It is a DC movie after all. But let's raise the action-level a bit from the Dark Knight.

So people thought a movie with serial killers, assassins, the military, billionaire businessmen, sorceress, the government, criminals, and clowns would be like Avengers?

"I think on a scale of like, ‘Dark Knight’ is here and ‘Avengers’ is here, I think it’s more on the ‘Dark Knight’ side of things." It cut her off right before she was about to say less kid friendly like Marvel lol
