Despite a lot of backlash from fans and critics, Suicide Squad is now one of the top seven finalists for the Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling. As you could probably tell from the name, this award honors the film that has both the best makeup and hair-styling of the year. The DC Comics flick actually won three other noteworthy awards earlier in 2016:  Margot Robbie won the Critics' Choice Award for Best Actress in an Action Movie and Suicide Squad won two Teen Choice Awards: Choice AnTEENcipated Movie and Choice Movie Actress: AnTEENcipated (Cara Delevigne).

Another finalist for this particular category is fellow comic book movie Deadpool. This film is also no stranger to awards, having won two Critics' Choice Awards for Best Comedy and Best Actor in a Comedy, and has also been nominated for two Golden Globe Awards: Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy and Best Actor - Motion Picture Comedy.

The other finalists for the Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling include: The DressmakerFlorence Foster JenkinsHail Caesar!A Man Called Ove, and Star Trek Beyond. The Academy will announce the top three finalists on January 7. Mad Max: Fury Road won the award last year.

If Suicide Squad wins that would be at least one middle finger towards the haters.

@Nightmare - I disagree. The prosthetics made his head look way out of proportion compared to his body. He looked like a walking bobblehead when shirtless imo.

Also, salty much?
Also, nowhere does it specify that the Joker is what 'caught the eye of the academy award'
