THE SUICIDE SQUAD: Check Out Two New Promo Posters For James Gunn's Wildest Movie To Date

The marketing campaign for The Suicide Squad recently kicked off in style with a red-band trailer and then a very different green-band one. Both provide a much better idea of what to expect from James Gunn's take on Task Force X, and those teasers have now been joined by some cool promo posters.

Available on DC Shop, these banners put the spotlight on various members of the supervillain team.

Characters like Harley Quinn, King Shark, and Peacemaker can all be seen here, as can The Thinker. Gunn has confirmed we're not getting the Clifford DeVoe version, so this is probably the unnamed take on the villain who first appeared in The New 52 reboot. Either way, he appears to be a surprise bad guy in The Suicide Squad rather than a member of the Task Force X team.

"Welcome to hell — a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A," reads the synopsis. "Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out—even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese."

"Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and- destroy mission with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave...and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them."

The Suicide Squad will be released in theaters and on HBO Max on August 6th, 2021.

Cant wait. If James Gunn wants to do something else for DC instead of The Suicide Squad 2, Robert Rodriguez could probably make a cool suicide squad movie. Go Grindhouse style

I like the top Warhol-esque poster. The X one looks like it's destined for Hot Topics t-shirts.
