Despite his nasty habit of tearing people to pieces and eating them, Nanaue's child-like innocence and friendship with Ratcather 2 saw him emerge as one of the more endearing members of Task Force X in The Suicide Squad.
The lethal - and borderline invincible - King Shark survives the final battle with Starro and returns to the U.S. with Harley Quinn, Bloodsport and Ratcatcher. Director James Gunn has indicated that we will see all four (well, five if you count Peacemaker) surviving members again at some point, but we haven't heard about any concrete plans for a sequel (unlikely given the last movie's underperformance at the box office) or spin-offs.
While speaking to ComicBook.com to promote his upcoming Paramount+ series Tulsa King, Sylvester Stallone - who provided the voice for the character - was asked if he intends to reunite with Gunn for more King Shark adventures.
"Yes, for sure," the Rocky star replied. "I think James has been very generous. He and I are pretty tight. So if there's an opportunity... I love him, he's great."
Unfortunately, Stallone didn't elaborate, so we have no idea if he actually knows where and when we'll see Nanaue next or if it's just something he assumes is going to happen. Is there a chance the big fella could show up in the second season of Peacemaker? We'll just have to wait and see.
