Aaron Eckhart Shares His Thoughts On TDKR, Chris Nolan And Superman!

Once again, The Dark Knight star discusses not being a part of the third movie as well as his faith in Chris Nolan, but more interestingly comments on who he tried to get to direct Superman...

"I just saw Chris the other day, Chris Nolan, and you know, what can I say? The guy didn't put me in the [third] movie."

"It’s fine. Actually, I wouldn’t have it any other way because with Heath [Ledger], 'The Dark Night' is Heath’s movie, it stands on its own and there’s no reason to do any more with that and it’s a natural thing too. I have total confidence in Chris. Chris is going to come up with a brilliant script and these people will be as good as they ever were in it."

"I tried to get Jonathan [Liebesman] to direct 'Superman,' the director of ["Battle: Los Angeles"]. I thought he would have been a great director for this. I probably will just go back to my little hovel and go surfing until somebody calls me."

The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 20, 2012 with Superman: The Man of Steel following shortly after in the Winter.

He seems like a nice guy. And he was a GREAT Harvey/Two-Face.

Too bad he's not returning.

It's a shame, Two-Face sort of got shafted in The Dark Knight.

Lmao, the wife had Erin Brokovich on last week, never realised that was him in it. Strange seeing him in movies like Dark Night and Battle L.A then a movie like that.....

Umm, I dont think hes spiteful or annoyed hes not included in the 3rd, yes he would of liked to be in it, but what i think hes really getting annoyed with is every damn interview hes in they always ask him his thoughts on it and im sure hes getting sick of talking about something hes not even involved in. He already let us know months ago that hes not going to be in the 3rd one, so quit askin him about Chris Nolan or anything about batman. He was great in TDK its too bad his character got killed off.

he was fantastic as Two-Face, cant wait for Battle Los Angeles

but im sorta glad he isnt returning to Batman, could they do anything else with his character, maybe Im wrong but I think the Dark Knight did everything with his character. Better for new villains to be in future movies

the only thing I found wrong with him was that he didnt get enough screentime in the Dark Knight but apart from that, I was happy with his character

He was so amazing it Dark Knight and I just feel bad because he does Just as good as Heath and he gets overshadowed by the huge publicity over Heath.

I am a big fan of Aaron Eckhart, and in many ways I'd say 'The Dark Knight', is his story with Heath's joker the catalyst. 'Battle Los Angeles' looks like it's going to be great and I'm really looking forward to 'The Rum Diary', with Johnny Depp.

Eckhart was brilliant as Harvey Dent/Two-Face. I wish he was coming back, but ah well. I don't blame him for wanting to be in it!

Still, can't wait for TDKR!

@DannyRand401 & WorldsGreatestdetective

Agreed, Aaron Eckhart is an amazing presence on screen. him and Heath Ledger truly elevated that movie to something special.. THAT, and the music of the film!! ;) brilliance!

but Aaron Eckhart should totally be cast as a superhero!! Just based of the uniqueness and power of his jawline I think he's probably one of the few actors around who could truly pull off a role with a full mask over his face

He was amazing in TDK. I think it was more his movie than Joker. Let the hate begin.

Seriously, his performance was flawless. He handled the full transition into Two-Face better than I could personally have wished to see it.

Eckhart is still my number one choice for Captain America, and would've been the perfect for the part, had age not been a factor. Too bad they didn't make the film ten years ago.
FoxForce5
FoxForce5 - 3/1/2011, 8:33 PM
He was great in TDK and I'm happy to think that he didn't actually die at the end and it'll all be revealed as a big cover-up by Bruce & Gordon but, alas, I'm pretty sure that Nolan doesn't have it planned that way... too bad.

On the other hand, how about Eckheart as a choice for Hank Pym?... Anybody?...

Aaron Eckhart FTW ;D

Guy was one of the best things about TDK.
RyKnow
RyKnow - 3/2/2011, 1:50 AM
While Eckhart was great in TDK, it's a given that Heath Ledger's acting was far better. The guy was unrecognisable, physically and mentally.

Why oh why didn't Nolan listen to Eckhart when deciding who should direct Superman (after Robert Zemeckis and Ben Affleck declined of course). Oh the humanity.
