@LEVI Doubtful, by the time July 4th weekend comes around MOS will have made the majority of its money and with big releases coming like despicable me 2 and the Lone Ranger coming that weekend and WWZ and monsters university already knocking it off top spot MOS will be struggling to stay in the top 5 at that point. Also why does it matter if it makes more than TASM? As long as it makes enough to ensure sequels and other DC properties getting movies than weather it makes more money than TASM or not is inconsequential

Great movie apart from Lois knowing hes Superman before he actually is Superman, that sucked donkey chunks and the score sucked, don't even remember it it was that good, reckon it would've been even bigger with Superman Score!

Well, let's also not forget that TASM came after a highly successful franchise, which was still fresh in a lot of people's minds. Also Spider-man as a character was in a far better position in terms of the general public's attitude towards him.

Superman was coming off a previous unsuccessful reboot, and before that one of the worst films of all time.

Secondly the public perception before of Superman as a character before this movie wasn't very good, with many making statements about the character, which are just old fashioned concepts due to lack of keeping up with a 'modern' Superman.

It has also been the draw card for a lot of critism towards the movie, that somehow this isn't Superman, well if so e of these 'experts' picked up a comicbook written after the 80's and didn't base their idea of the character on one, albeit iconic for the era, portrayal then I think things would have been different.

Anyways, back on point: If this can hit between 650 to 800 then that is a massive success, heck it already is with general audiences and people haven't spoken about Superman with this passion for years so in that regard it has achieved something special.

@Levi: Right and while he's at it, needs deported or exiled. Whatever you would do with an illegal alien. The true American, the true avenger don't want him here. He causes destruction, at least this guy was neat about taking out the villains. Yes, did it twice in the movie-verse. These guys are real americans.

Saw it last night. It was ok.
Was a little disappointed.
Cavill was great but I wish he had more dialogue. At times I felt like all he did was yell and grunt

It'll end up with Iron Man 1 numbers, maybe a little more. That's a good start.

Hoping we have MOS 2 then Worlds Finest, then Justice League. Then break off in to solo movies. With MOS probably ending up with around $600 million, anyone other than Batman will get only around $300-400 million if they don't do Justice League first. I would say each solo movie would get at least $600 million after being introduced in Justice League first. Get people familiar and interested, then give them a solo.

I'm going to see a comicbook movie cause I love these characters. I don't care if these guys win anything special. Marvel has been nominated for academy awards but, nothing impressive.
