Is John Williams Providing the Score for "Man of Steel"?

The facebook "Superman: Man of Steel (2013)" fan page has some very interesting information regarding the upcoming movie's musical score.

Take this one with a grain of salt for now, but if IMDB.com is right, John Williams will be returning to create music for "Superman: Man of Steel". This one comes as a surprise because Tyler Bates and Hans Zimmer have both been at one time rumored to provide the soundtrack for the movie.

As we all know, the original score for Superman: The Movie is some of the most endearing and fan favorite music of all time. Could Zack Snyder really be trying to bring that music to this movie? Does DC/Warner Bros. think that you can't have a Superman movie without the iconic music to go along with it?

I guess only time will tell...

Not sure what to make of IMDB and the composer listed for the music score. For a while Tyler Bates was rumored, now John Williams appears. IMDB isn't always wrong, but it also isn't always right since content is contributed. Oh what will WB really do??? And yet we have to wait to find out...

If this is true and he is composing for this movie then doesn't necessarily mean he's going to the same score all over again. Its John [frick]ing Williams, the guy will come up with some thing that is equally as iconic.

yeah Newtons GL score was really epic (that was sarcasm by the way in case you don't get it)

Love the old score but don't want to hear it in this new movie. I'd prefer this new film to be new all the way around as i'm sure it will be - including the music.

since this movie is directed by Zack Snyder most likely he will get Tyler Bates to make the score since both of them work with each other all the time.

Steve Jablonsky would be cool to do the Man of Steel score. Transformers: Dark of the Moon score has a epic style that work for Man of Steel i.e. the song called "Battle" has that Superman feel.

Why the [frick] not. If he made the original so iconic i can see him doing the same for this

hey, Nolan didn't use Danny Elfman's pretty iconic Batman original score, so why would he or snyder keep john williams'? although i won't mind if he does...

imdb? oh jesus, you shouldnt even have posted this when it concerns that site

But there is the off-chance now and again where they are right. I hope this is true

and PLEASE use the original Superman theme in the end credits. If James Bond can continue to use the James Bond theme in its rebooted franchise's end credits, then Superman can use its old theme in the end credits

@jazzman Jablonsky is one of my favorite composers, the songs he created for the TF scores were truly beautiful, especially this one you posted, my favorite song of his work on the whole trilogy.

Tyler Bates is listed on IMDB as the composer toward the bottom of the list as well as showing Original Music by John Williams.

So if it's true, then Tyler Bates is doing the score, but using original music by J.Williams.

I'm hoping the Classic Superman Theme is going to be used.

I'd rather have a new tune to separate this from past films. The score for the new Batman films is catchy, so I'm sure the same can be done for Superman.

amen yes please. the superman franchise started tanking after 2 because william left, 3 and 4 were mediocrily scored using williams music and returns was god awfull with the 3 minutes of williams music in the film. if zack doesnt have a terrific score that emotionaly relates to people, superman will be keeping his red boxers for all the comics and the reboot will be another lame reboot that removes music wich is generaly why sequel franchises tank and end up being pale immatations of thier former selves.
