In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Man Of Steel was directed by Zack Snyder, from a script written by David Goyer. The cast includes: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix, Laurence Fishburne and Richard Schiff.

Should have kept the gold and red on the el symbol for the entire family instead of the depressing black and silver.

I love the art for the arm and chest armor. It feels like an otherworldly chain mail. I get what they were going for now. I wish it would have translated better in the film.

Great art, and executed on screen really well. Posting "Everything Wrong with Man of Steel" again? Wasn't funny the first time.

@ALmight, actually, the Kryptonians seemed to be pretty good warriors. Unless you throw Thor into the mix, I think the Kryptonians with their guns win. They just shoot the Asgardians down.

Amazing concept art for a brilliant film. Hopefully the sequel will have a lot of action too.

I really dig what Zack Snyder did with the Kryptonian under Armour or suits. Also, the inclusion of Jor-El's Artificial intelligence make the expansion of Superman's "Scientific Universe" more feasible and tangible. For example, many questions unanswered and things not yet explained begins with Jor-El as the answer or mentor.

But the suit they can easily change it or have a variety of different suits (that are still close to the original) that functions with each story being told. And it can still be Kryptonian. Cool...

Maybe he can find another Scout ship that might have an armoire or wardrobe; and from that we can get the variety of suits. Black and silver Kryptonian suit, New 52 suit, Kryptonite force field suit etc.

ALmight is actually right, though. Asgardians naturally have super strength regardless of location. Kryptonians, although somewhat similar in technological advancement, only possess super strength in yellow sun light. THey may possess great fighting ability, but that does little against other beings who possess the same warrior skills.

I think that the idea of the Kryptonian suits are this:

The modern ara version of the suits are blacks and greys, as the culture has become a little stiffer and colder.

Clark's suit from the old scout ship is very sold, back when there was more color and vibrancy in the suits as the Kryptonian culture was more vibrant at the time.

Zod's ship is still sitting in the artic. Hopefully Jor-El's A.I. Sent some of the servant drones off the Black Zero ship to begin building the Fortress.

Anybody else think there might be a connection to the servant drones and Booster Gold's side kick Skeets?

I just noticed something about General Zod's family chest emblem, it's slanted "U", so, in the evil universe, Ultraman is a descended of General Zod! That is sooo cool!
