MAN OF STEEL Listed As One Of The Most Disappointing Movies Of 2012

Despite the fact that this film doesn't release for another 6 months, it seems that Yahoo has a little gripe they can't get over.

The upcoming film hasn't even released, and according to Yahoo they've decided to list it on "The Most Disappointing Movies of 2012" list. It's for one reason only, because Superman's briefs are missing, you've read that right. The writer Jonathan Crow goes on to say:"For the upcoming reboot, "Man of Steel," director Zack Snyder took off Superman's red briefs. That's right, the "300" director changed the iconic uniform of the Last Son of Krypton, and he now looks as if he should be on a luge instead of fighting crime. What happened to tradition?"

For one thing, he's wrong on Snyder's comment he actually supported the idea of Superman keeping the briefs, overall this is just ridiculous. Hopefully this whole thing calms down before the new trailer makes its way online.

Man of Steel is set to release on June 14, 2013 in IMAX 3D and regular 2D. Starring: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe

Dumb. Batman never wears his underwear on outside despite the fact he does in the comics, Ian's many other heroes have a change of costume and don't get put on silly lists.

How does Yahoo arguement make sense, so red pants on the outside make him look more like a crime fighter?! How?

Just another imbecilic, amateur writer from Yahoo who farts, sniffs it, and calls himself clever.

To bad this movie will be amazing! How many characters wear their comic accurate costume? Superman and Spiderman (both of which have changed as of 2011) and to a degree Hulk and Iron Man....

I'm one that doesn't really care about the briefs, but no one complained when they took them off Batman. Batman had blue ones, gray ones, black ones. I mean he had a whole wardrobe of briefs, and everyone celebrates the new look when Burton's Batman came out. Cartoons even put them back on Batman, but nobody cares about Batman's undies. Even Green Lantern lost his briefs for the movie, and despite the complaints that movie has gotten, no one mentions those. Get over it. The new look might be so good on film that we'll want it that way forever. Just like we did Batman. Who doesn't like Batman better in all black? Oh wait, I asked that on this board, so someone is about to chime in on how great the bright blue and gray costume was.

since Supes in an alien, it shouldn't matter if he has the thing or not. And it's not underwear, I think it's called a codpiece.

niknik
niknik - 12/3/2012, 10:14 AM
It's neither undies nor codpiece. It's a sewn in part of his trousers. It's a design and nothing more. Oh wait, it is one thing more. It's ICONIC. Should have left his uniform alone, but that doesn't automatically make it a bad film. Just a disappointment for old school fans. Like me. Won't be buying that ticket.

bhorwith22 - 12/3/2012, 11:35 PM
I like this costume, and I am glad they got rid of the briefs, but I would have liked it more if they went for a more armored look, like in the New 52 comics. Then again, an armored look might not work too well in live action for Superman, considering the bright colors of his costume.
I still think they should have added some type of belt though. Right now, it looks too much like a jumpsuit.

Another reason as to why Yahoo is dying. Nobody uses that thing anymore!

This writer is stupid for even putting this movie ob his list! Just for removing the red undies? We had an entire year to digest this change! GET OVER IT!!

Butt-hurt dumbass. -_-

Yeah with the director of such mediocre forgettable movies as 300 and the Watchmen and Sucker Punch. None of which didn't get any better rating then 60% on rotten tomatoes. You know because Film Critics are usually smarter than stupid Fanboys. What could go wrong. It's not like everybody around here are drinking the Kool-aid. Or sucking on Nolan and Snyder Dick 24/7.
