Warner Bros. is slowly starting to get its act together when it comes to the DC Extended Universe, but this news is bound to still infuriate you.

There have been rumours for a while that Mission: Impossible - Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie has come close to directing either Man of Steel 2 or Green Lantern Corps, but it turns out the studio simply wasn't interested.

Wait, what?!

As you can see below, McQuarrie and Henry Cavill pitched a Superman movie to the studio (presumably after they found great success working together on the last Mission: Impossible movie) which would have tied into a Green Lantern Corps movie the filmmaker also proposed.

It's crazy to think the studio said no, especially when Warner Bros. seemingly has no immediate plans for Green Lantern or Superman right now. McQuarrie could have done something really special with them both, but clearly couldn't convince the powers that be that his vision was a good fit for the heroes.

How do you guys feel about this news? Check out McQuarrie's Tweets below along with our interview with Mission: Impossible - Fallout star Simon Pegg about the movie.
