In a recent interview wiht ABC News radio, former Superman Dean Cain said the followng in regards of the lastest incartnation of Superman in Man of Steel:

“The last incarnation of Superman was completely different than anything I did on Lois & Clark. It was kind of devoid of the two things that made our show special, which were humor and romance. It didn’t have either of those. There was no humor and there was no real romance. I saw the movie they pushed. There’s no romance in there. I’m sorry.”

His opinion can be a little controversial, as we all know Man of Steel has been a very devisive movie for general audiences, fans of the Superman character and critics alike, but before we start bashing the guy for his opion, he also had some positive things to say about cast and the over all film:

“I think Henry did a great job. I love Amy Adams as an actress, but that wasn’t romantic to me. Those elements were missing but they weren’t going for those. They were going for that angst-y, alien, real feel. It was pretty cool.”

What do you guys think? Do you agree wiht Cain that Man of Steel was devoid of these elements? Do you believe Man of Steel had just the right amount romance and humor? Leave your comments down bellow and thank you for reading.

Dean Cain was my first Superman. Always loved that show. And I agree with him on those points. And to add my own; Superman should not be angst-y.

First?

I think Cavill did a good job as Supes. I'm not all that familiar with Cain's interpretation of the character so I can't comment on that one way or the other.

Superman, with a little bit of Batman, so the GA care about him.
Just joking... but true. :)

I disliked the movie for some of the same reasons. It was devoid of personality, the character development was forced and the CGI was a little OTT. But there is one thing I will say. Henry Cavill is Superman. I just wish they had given him more to work with in Man of steel. He was stiff, emotionless and angsty in MoS but I feel if the character was written better he would of been 1000X better.

I can respect people's hatred towards the film when they talk about mess ups with dialogue and lack of character development, but bitching about how there was no romance is just bitching to bitch.

The point is that they tried to put some romance between Lois and Clark but is was bad. They fall in love for nothing except being hot as [frick].
