Awesome. Looks a bit like the Bull in Bowling Green Park. A type of sculpture like it.

Not sure if it's the globe that actually sits atop the Daily Planet building. But it already looks better than this-

Reason being- It's looks different. It's not a rehash.

Maybe it's not gold...YET. But maybe once filming is further along they will color it gold.

Although a color change to the globe could only be a positive thing about this movie...it means they are dumping all the shit from the last movie and making this one stand apart on its own.

Can't wait to see more of the Daily Planet. Still wondering where the hell Jimmy is though.

Oh and F TO THE YA on Metropolis being filmed now. I was getting increasingly worried about Smallville being the dominant focus of the movie.

Time to see some destruction on the streets of Metropolis!!!!

@LP4

im so happy. but i want other memebers who work in The Daily Planet to be in the movie. Cat Grant, Ron Troupe, Steve Lombard and Jimmy Olsen. plus i dont want the cr*ppy boring geeky Jimmy Olsen anymore. want to see a modern kind of edgey Jimmy Olsen

i agree, glad to see more metropolis. and glad to see new designs all round, from the costume to the daily planet globe, this is its own superman story completely seperate from the donner verse. Very good moves

I am loving how real-world you can tell Metropolis will look from these pics. This Metropolis looks like the Downtown area of where I grew up. I know it isn't really but it sure does look like it and I like that they are making Metropolis more real this time around.

I never liked how "clean" and "perfect" this version of Metropolis was.

I mean yeah, Metropolis is supposed to be clean and nice compared to Gotham City. But it also should look like a place where a battle could occur.

@jazzman- Yeah man, I know what you mean. If Jimmy is in this film they HAVE GOT TO make him more modern and with the times. Give him a more modern outlook on life, make him less geeky and more of the kind of kid we could imagine meeting in real-life.

The globe looks kinda weird. It looks very plain. I just don't really like the typeface they chose for it. But it does look pretty old. Maybe they're tryna go for that classic, authentic look, like its been there for a century or something.

I'm sure the final product would be nice and shiny the way we're used to. I like it shiny and gold and I hope they keep it that way.

I actually like it. This could be a "Planet" just in the foyer - we may still see the golden one on top of the building. Overall I'm loving the look of this movie.
JackDexx
JackDexx - 9/13/2011, 1:40 PM
it's kinda... bad. there is no way to tell it's a planet, especially with the hole. the old one was great i don't get the change. there doing the same thing The Amazing Spider-Man is doing. they are changing everything to be different, regardless of if it's a good decision or not. I hope it doesn't suffer from it. TASM doesn't look like it's gonna suffer from it to much.
